“In nature, nothing exists alone.”
The theme for Earth Day 2019 is 'Protect Our Species'. It aims to draw attention to the rapid extinction of species across the world, which is directly linked to human activity for example climate change, deforestation and pollution.
40% of the world's 11,000 bird species are in decline and 75% of the world's coral reefs are under stress. Do you remember hearing about Sudan? Sudan, the last northern white rhino, died in 2018. Three bird species also went extinct that year.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Here are a list of actions people can take to tackle climate change and protect the environment to save species across the world. switching sunscreen to protect coral, organising or joining a beach clean-up and tracking and reducing their plastic waste. You can also plant trees, switch to reusable bags or create a bee-friendly garden. Start using public transport to cut emissions, buying energy-efficient appliances and electronics and most importantly be MINDFUL OF YOUR ACTIONS! 💚💙💚 #EarthDay #MissEarthEngland #MotherEarth #EcoWarrior #TreePlanting #Philippines #England #EcoTour #EcoTourism #EarthGirl
