Today, last year I was laid off from my job.
I remember I bought this mug when I worked at my corporate job to remind myself every morning to follow my dreams. I played myself though because I knew I wasn’t doing what I wanted to do with my life. I didn’t have the courage to quit my job. Instead, God made the decision to end one chapter in my life, to start a new chapter with purpose.
There’s a few things this journey has taught me:
If you want something you gotta go out there and get it!
Never turn your back on the people that put you on. I have so much love respect for the stylists that put their trust in me and gave me an opportunity. Thank you for all that you’ve taught me.🙏🏾❤️ Be aware of fake love. Not everyone wants the best for you, especially the people close to you.
You win some, you lose some and let me tell you that’s going to be their loss.
Create a mastermind group with likeminded individuals. Learn from one another, support one another and grow together.
Cancel those yes-man friends. If we can’t be real with each other you serve no purpose in my life.
I’m still working on this, but learn how to have a healthy life/work balance. Don’t be a slave to the system. The most important investment is in YOURSELF. Take time to off from the chaos in life, take care of yourself and create a life full of happiness and purpose.
Take the time to nurture valuable friendships.
Don’t ever get comfortable with anything in life. Life is too short. Take risks and challenge yourself everyday. Don’t EVER settle for less.
Life still goes on after disappointment so suck it up and move on.
Be humble because nothing in life is promised.
Every time you ask for support make sure your taking the time to support someone else.
Put in the work and the universe will meet you half way.
Read books and get a mentor. Life is too short to figure everything out on your own.
@dorcasanna taught me “The sad part about the good old days is that you don’t know when your in it so enjoy life and continue to create unforgettable moments.” Finally, Ye said it best “Please do everything you can in one lifetime”🙏🏾
