I can’t tell you how many time is find it perfect video and then I hear “Come get the groceries”
So a few weeks ago I saw Wonder Park and it was pretty stupid.
The film follows our main character as she creates a place of her imagination called Wonderland. Yes it’s called Wonderland and not Wonder Park so I don’t even know why this film is even called Wonder Park to begin with if that’s the case. As she gets older though her mother gets sick and she stops imagining. We then discover that her not imagining anymore has hurt Wonderland which seems to be real. Yeah you’ve heard this kind of story before and it is pretty predictable as to what’s going to happen as each scene comes in. One thing that seemed odd to begin with was that it didn’t seem like much time passed between the mother getting sick and our main character not believing. It looks like she only aged a year if that and yet they felt the need to change voice actresses for some reason and it made no sense to me. Our main character is just a very generic person who you’ve seen before and is not interesting in the slightest. Both voice actresses did not turn in a good performance because there wasn’t a moment that felt genuine to me here because it felt like forced voice acting mixed with forced drama. Oh boy we’re the animal characters in this movie annoying. All of them are annoying and ear grating because they all have very annoying voices used. Again it came down to the voice acting again and it was all bad throughout the film. Wonderland itself looked creative at very small points but just felt uninspired to say the least. We’re supposed to believe that this is a magical place but it just looked like any generic amusement park here and it was just dull to look at. I will give credit to that tool that the monkey uses though because I thought that was kind of cool. Another positive (if you can call it that) is that this film is very short. With only an 86 minute runtime, each scene was rushed beyond belief. Every scene just came and went without ever really giving time to let up because it just felt determined to end.
