Don’t want anyone to go thinking I hadn’t #cleanweek-ed it up today! 😅

Today was a lesson though. After 4 days that went really well, today’s lack of planning meant some changes in several directions. 😶

It all started off so well with a lovely breakfast which included sweet potato 😋
.
.
.
Then I forgot my snack in the canteen. (Stock photo top right - snack ended up being the healthiest substitute I could find for what was on plan, and was an apple, almond and a small yogurt). But from then on everything went a little bit skewy. Recipes were changed, ingredients were substituted, and all over I just had a bit of a “well today’s plan is ruined so I might as well just properly write it off” attitude. Probably even had a hot chocolate before bed, after this picture was taken... and toast... with chocolate spread... 😂

I just think this goes to show how planning is key to consistency. Aiming to have a nice big food prep session this weekend to make next week 100% on plan. 👍🏻

.
But just like one healthy day doesn’t make you ripped, one unhealthy day amongst a week which has been consistently so much more nutritionally on-point than subsequent months won’t sabotage the entire routine. And I am determined to stay on track this time 💪🏻

Tex-Mex Chopped Chicken Salad Recipe

Makes 4 servings and per serving you receive:
· 1 leaner protein
· 2 greens
· 3 condiments

Ingredients:
Dressing:
1 cup Walden Farms ranch dressing
2 Tbsp. Ortega taco seasoning, hot or mild
Salad:
24 ounces grilled chicken cooled and diced
4 cups Romaine lettuce, chopped, about 1 head
1/2 cup Roma tomatoes, diced
1/2 cup cucumber, seeded and diced
1/2 cup green onions, sliced
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
6 Tsp. lime juice
1/2 cup of jalapeño & jicama mixed together

Directions
In a small bowl, stir together ingredients for dressing then refrigerate until ready to use.
In a large bowl, toss salad ingredients together. Add dressing a little at a time then toss until lightly coated.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

I worked hard at the gym this morning and am rewarding myself with this meal.  I cheated a little because I heated up leftover turmeric-spiced cauliflower, roasted asparagus, oven roasted carrots, and leftover sautéed purple and green cabbage.  The only things that was freshly made was half the avocado and the eggs that fit perfectly into my asparagus nest.  I seasoned the eggs with thyme, salt and pepper.  So delicious and I am totally worth it!

quick PSA: doing ab exercises will NOT reveal your abs. yes, the movements will develop your abdominal muscles just like any other muscle group, but you have to decrease overall body fat to actually SEE them pop. this is super individual and pretty heavily dependent on genetics. ⠀

So I had to make a quick lunch for work, I got two meals out of this so I’ll have one spare 💯😂! It won’t go to waste that’s for sure! .
I like to keep my simple, they are always simple and I always aim my meal preps around 500kcal area and protein packed! But yeah if your short for time, just keep it simple! 💯😬! .

Diary free, sugar free, super delicious pancakes with PB @gonutsfrance topped with raspberry, grapes and kiwis. 
Ingredients: makes 4 to 5 
70g Flour 
1 egg
1 medium banana 
5g baking powder

In a mixing bowl, combine flour,baking powder. Add mashed banana and egg,mix well.
Preheat non stick pan and cook pancakes on medium to low heat. 
Add your favorite toppings 🍒🍓🍌
