We are happy to announce that one of our partner in YouthSpeak Forum is Naku!
Johann and Ute Zimmermann will hold a keynote on SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
NaKu is the short form for "natürlichen Kunststoff" - natural plastic. At first glance, this name chosen by us actually seems to be a contradiction, but it was chosen on purpose for the same reason. They use natural and renewable raw materials for our material and use them to make products that are very similar to conventional plastics, both in their appearance, in their processing and in their characteristics. Modern technology enables the production of plastics from plants of local agriculture, such as sugar, potatoes, corn or grain. Our products can be reused several times and then will be degraded by nature at the end of their lifetime. In this way, products made of natural plastic can be disposed with household waste or even composted after use. As a result, they become soil again and can serve as a basis for growth of new natural raw materials. Through this process we are able to combine nature and plastic. The two terms are no longer contradictory, but reasonably compatible. For them, the combination of nature and technology is no longer a contradiction, but a future necessity.
