You should be more parallel to the floor so you can get the most range of motion possible and controlling each rep 💪🏻 there is no point doing half reps because you’re not really doing it properly. You don’t always have to increase the weight to make it harder, you can add time under tension which means you slow the reps down and even throw in some holds and make sure you’re getting the biggest range of motion you can.

Try this with a lighter weight and I bet it’ll still feel difficult 🤗

Cable row -To get into the starting position, first sit down and place your feet in front of the v-bar, making sure that your knees are slightly bent and not locked.
- Lean over as you keep the natural alignment of your back and grab the v-bar handles.
- With your arms extended pull back the v-bar towards you.  Your back should be slightly arched and your chest should be sticking out.  You should be feeling a nice stretch on your lats as you hold the bar in front of you.  This is the starting position of the exercise.
- Keeping the torso stationery, pull the handles back towards your body while keeping the arms close to it until you touch the abdominals.  Breath out as you perform that movement.
- At that point you should be squeezing your back muscles hard.  Hold the contraction for a second and slowly go back to the original position while breathing in.
- Repeat for the recommended amount of repetitions.

Variations:

A lot of people asked me “How can you hit the gym everyday after work or early in the morning? How do you stay motivated?”
The truth is I’m not. 
At times, I do feel lazy but have to dragged myself to the gym. The intensity of the workout, the hard work and drainage is nothing I look forward to. It is not the motivation or inspiration that keeps me going. It is the disciple, the mastery of my thoughts. 
Disciple is doing the things you have to do even when you don’t feel like doing it. Discipline builds habits and produces result. Disciple is not enjoyable, but always profitable

An important this to note when training back is that, even before pulling the weight, you need to contract your upper back first just by pushing your shoulders back and pinching the shoulders together. That is step 1. Step 2 is the actual pulling of the weight.
•
But then there is a correct way to pull the weight. Most people pull with their arms which is wrong. You need to pull with the elbows because the job of the back muscles is to bring your elbows behind your torso.
•
Imagine that there is an imaginary bull's eye on your lower back right above your butt. As you are pulling your elbows back, try to get them to touch that imaginary bull's eye. Now obviously that's not possible... but the closer you can get your elbow to that point, the stronger the contraction.
•
As you are slowly lowering the weight back down,let your arms go in front first, THEN let your shoulder blades and upper back relax. This will give your the full stretch.
•
Watch how I am doing machine rows here in this video. Watch my upper back and elbows closely and try to do the exact same thing the next time you do machine rows or any other kind of rows.

As you get more experienced, you will be able to do both movements in one fluid motion. You got this!
