gestern haben wir im Foox-Bau ne fette Kinderparty 🎈 🎉 gefeiert, denn unser Charlie ist 3 Jahre geworden 😱🥰 ’
Und was darf bei so nem krassen Event nicht fehlen? Genau! Muffins wie diese hier, fluffigstens und so lecker, dass keiner übrig blieb 😂 ’

Eigentlich wollte ich euch das original Rezept mit Mehl, Zucker und Schokobons so hier rein tippen.. dachte aber gerade.. wie wäre es mit nem Experiment? SO würde ich die etwas „gesündere“ Variante backen.. hab’s aber nicht ausprobiert - vielleicht traust du dich ja?

Rezept für 20-24 Marmor-Muffins
4 Eier
300g Xylit
Abrieb einer Tonkabohne
300g leichte Butter (18% von WW zB)
350g Dinkelmehl
30g Kakao, entölt
1 TL Weinstein-Backpulver
etwas Wasser / Pflanzenmilch
optional:
gehackt Schokolade, zuckerfrei

Xylit mit den Eiern schaumig aufschlagen. Butter (geschmolzen) unterrühren, Mehl langsam dazu. Dann noch den Tonkaabrieb und das Backpulver. Teig in zwei Hälften teilen und zu einer den Kakako geben. Ist der Teig zu zähflüssig jeweils etwas Wasser oder (Pflanzen)Milch dazu geben. Wer mag hebt unter beide Teige noch bissl Schokolade. Dann ab damit in Muffinsförmchen und im vorgeheizten Backofen bei 175°C Umluft etwa 20min Backen.

Wer nu sagt: „pah Mehl, Zucker und Schokobons müssen sein!“ der ersetzt halt alles entsprechend durch normale Butter, echten Zucker und weißes Mehl, und hackt noch paar Schokobons schön fein statt Schokolade 😂 - schmeckt brutal!

Grasping the relationship between energy consumed and the end goal can only be realized if there is consistent awareness of eating behaviours. And this includes ridding ourselves of presumption and replacing it with relative perspective and addressing what is important.

For example, this weekly selection of generous, yet normalized allotments of side sauces accumulate to 1135 calories. The assumption is that the caloric value consumed during each episode is small enough to omit from our nutritional reckoning. But whilst the values are individually small, over time small can become relatively large. Much like pennys make pounds. -

Another assumption may be that consuming a ferociously calorie dense Domino’s pizza will require diligent tracking to the utmost. If compositional goals are in play, diligent tracking of calorie dense items is of course wise, but they should be held in the same perspectives of all calories consumed. Because all food is equal in that we should allow ourselves access to any food we enjoy. -

Yet we often have a disconnect between assumption and reality. Assumption leads one to believe that regular, small amounts of sauce are too insignificant to be worthy of consideration. But that an irregular pizza may ruin the hard yards of dieting, such is its caloric density. -

Though sauces and moderated pizzas should always be eaten if enjoyed, if perspective is applied, we can see above that the assumed threat to one’s composition (pizza) is in fact more favourable than the assumed insignificance (sauces). -

As ever, the point here revolves around awareness. Awareness that certain eating patterns may facilitate or inhibit progress. Awareness that all food is allowed. Awareness that quantity of calories, not type of food, is the direct driver regarding compositional change. And awareness that, over time, small dietary change as a result of basic knowledge can reap big rewards. 🙂

One of the best fridge or freezer staples for lunches is a frittata! This roast vegetable version is perfect for using up leftover roast veggies or you can roast them in the oven dish then add the frittata mixture over the top when ready, which is what I always do (hello less dishes and using up any veg I have in my fridge!). My frittata mix of course includes eggs, cottage cheese, sour cream, cream, herbs and grated cheese. Slice it up into individual containers for later that week or just serve it up as it is! Often I hear statements about nutrition that exaggerate research or draw entirely different conclusions from the evidence. With so many rumors swirling around, I understand why people are confused, and even scared by some of the claims out there. .

There is nothing wrong with limiting or cutting out certain foods. There’s no need to eat a food you hate (and if you’re allergic to something you def want to cut out that food asap!) .

But, is it important to recognize when cutting out food(s) gets extreme. How can you tell? A diet is extreme if it: .

🔸demonizes a certain food or food group➡️ there are no “good” or “bad” foods, only different foods. Some foods are more nutrient dense, but that doesn’t make the less nutrient dense ones bad. For example, if you’re hungry between a meal and have low blood sugar, candy could be just what your body needs to get energy stat

🔸causes you to think about food all the time➡️ your time and headspace is precious, you’re meant to do other things besides plan and prepare meals
.
.
.
🔸socially isolates you ➡️ you shouldn’t skip parties or miss out on dinners with friends because of a diet. Connection is an essential part of health and we all need it to feel our best

How do I keep up with my fitness & health while traveling?✈️❤️💪👌

I’m about to head to the airport to head to Taipei City in Taiwan😍🇹🇼 This is my first time visiting Asia but I went to Europe a few times last year & I’m taking what I learned there into this trip as traveling abroad calls for I think a different type of strategy vs traveling in the states or Canada/Mexico.

I’ve found that while it’s easier in the US to find more Macro balanced dishes with protein & veggies, my experience in Europe (& I’m assuming Asia also) is a different story. I’ve tried before to limit myself to getting more high protein & veggie meals (even though it was hard to find) but have found that just accepting that I’m going to be enjoying moderate amounts of a lot of different dishes will be 1000% worth it & great for my mental health & happiness in fully enjoying this trip 🤗🙌 BUT I do want to supplement what I may be missing from my normal diet (which will likely be protein & veggies) which is why I’m brining the following:
.
✅ @questnutrition Protein powder💪 I plan to have a protein drink for breakfast each morning which will be good as I’ve read Taiwan has more carb heavy porridge dishes for breakfast
.
✅ @amazinggrass Superfoods tablets (I LOVE to EAT & not drink greens 😅 but since an abundance of veggies may be hard to find, having a tablet each day will give me peace of mind for not getting in the amount of vegetables I usually do🌿)
.
✅ @heronutritionals Complete Multivitamin Gummies (This is the only supplement I take daily because I try to get most of my nutrients from whole foods)
.
.
I’ll also be taking mini bands with me so that I can get a couple workouts in but planning on doing a lot of walking too 🙌

Also bringing some jerky & protein bars for the plane & to have as additional protein snacks in case I feel like I’m lacking protein 😅

Postre 🐈Bebida de castañas de caju sabor chocolate

El domingo estaba en coto con mi papá y me compro está bebida que desde hace un montón la quiero probar 🤓
La iba a tomar como colación de media tarde pero con la hora en la que almorcé ya no había mucha "tarde" que me quedara 
Así que decidí pasarlo para la noche
La bebida es riquísima,me encanto,se me hizo re pesada pero igual me la termine todita(la probé caliente y también fría)
El problema llegó cuando me fijé bien y me di cuenta que la info nutricional no era por todo el pote,osea que el valor de lo que tome termino siendo mayor a lo que pensaba...y peor era porque al mediodía comí la tarta con info nutricional desconocida
Por suerte ya se acaba el día y no pensaré en esto...mañana es un día largo y espero que tampoco me afecte, igualmente vuelvo a decir que estaba MUY RICA y se la recomiendo mucho,mucho

Growing up I was never one for pizza, but when I did want it I REALLY wanted it. Tonight, I was feeling it (& Saturday I was feeling it), so I made myself a personal veggie “pie!” For dinner I had 1/2 the 🍕, a 🥗 with 🥒+ @organicgirl herb goddess dressing, & 2 @emmysorganics mint chip macaroons (SO TASTY!!) for dessert bc I was still hungry & craving some 🍫.

Why share this with you? Bc I want you to know that YOU can eat pizza too (& you can eat chocolate ❤️)! Don’t hear what I’m not saying: I’m not saying eat pizza/chocolate/etc. every day or eat as much as you can physically fit inside of your body in one sitting. What I’m saying is this: if you really want some pizza, eat it & ENJOY it. Maybe have 1-2 slices instead of 3-4 & add in a green salad or some fruit to balance out the meal. Food is meant to fuel you, but it is also meant to be enjoyed.

What I’m saying is this: if you really want some pizza, eat it & ENJOY it. Maybe have 1-2 slices instead of 3-4 & add in a green salad or some fruit to balance out the meal. Food is meant to fuel you, but it is also meant to be enjoyed.

If you want to put a lunch together that won’t have you hiding under your desk at 3 PM:

You have to think about blood sugar. That’s it. Blood sugar is king at lunch time.

WOW that sounds boring and sciencey and not sexy. That’s fine, that’s what I’m here for.

This is how we do it 👇🏼
🍤PROTEIN: Mahi-Mahi - this is gonna keep me full all afternoon and also rev up my metabolism so I’m not dragging ass after lunch
🥑HEALTHY FAT: Olive oil that I used to cook the Mahi-Mahi and I also used it to sauté my kale. Probably 2 Tbsp total. Healthy fat calms hunger hormones, steadies blood sugar, and is excellent brain fuel.
🥬 FIBER: kale + @rightrice lentil and chickpea rice (10g protein and 5 g fiber!!). Fiber fills you up quickly without the urge to overeat and slows blood sugar uptake. So that way you can have some starchy rice (yum), but with way less of an effect on blood sugar. Neat-o.

This kept me full through a workout and an air conditioner-less drive home in Atlanta rush hour. WOW. Much respect to this bowl.

Have you tried the new lentil/chickpea rice products coming out? I’m super pumped, obviously. This is the first one I’ve tried and I LOVE it. Used the lemon pepper flavor. I believe it was around 25g net carbs, where regular rice is around 40g. This is just going to keep you more full, less sleepy, and keep your gut healthy.

I know there's a lot of interest around about #cleaneating, so I'm sharing my top three tips:

3. Discard/freeze leftovers after 3-4 days! Also, don't freeze food more than once. The more times a food passes through the "temperature danger zone" (40-140F), the higher chances of it conveying foodborne illness.

OH! And when it comes to the wellness-y kind of "clean eating" - know that the food safety kind is the one your body cares about. When I was a little girl, I was asked, “if I had a genie in a bottle, what wish would I wish for?” I had wished to be in thin. The little girl inside me believed that being thin would give me all the things I dreamed of, health, happiness, a husband, a good job, travel and friends.

Ironically, I already had all these things before I became thin. In fact, I nearly lost them all.

There is a misconception that if we are thin, it will lead to the ultimate dream life. It is not surprising really that we think this. We are sold the message that thinness leads to health and happiness.

For me, and for many others, pursuing thinness meant losing our health and happiness. It made me the sickest I have ever been in my life.

It is only when we let go of chasing the thin dream that we can finally focus on the things that make us truly happy,

Once you become aware of the harms of diet culture, you notice it all over the place—because it really is everywhere.

And it goes far beyond “fad" diets and overt fat-shaming; it's subtle and sneaky, cloaking itself as “wellness” and “fitness” and “health.” Diet culture is constantly shape-shifting to stay current and alive, and to maintain its power to steal our time, money, health, and happiness. If we want to escape from and recover from it for good, we have to stay alert to it and call it out whenever we see it.

A lot of my time is spent working with sports dietitians and learning about athlete nutrition and one thing I hear over and over again is to use food as fuel, and while food is technically fuel in the form of calories it is so so so so much more. ⠀

Food is source of comfort, it's nourishing, it is often associated with love, joy, celebrations and mourning. Food connects us. Food shouldn't be downplayed as just fuel as if giving a human body energy is on the same playing field as putting gas in your car. ⠀

Tried making a ‘fake-away’ healthier version of Nando’s - 
I had a beanie burger in a warburtons thin and Michael had a grilled chicken pitta (both seasoned with medium hot Nando’s sauce). I also served this with some basmati rice which I seasoned in Mexican spice and added some veggies with a side salad and a portion of sweet potato fries 👌🏼
