DAY 58, KM 10700, COUNTRY 9. To make a long story longer: leaving Popayán with good weather, fresh washed clothes and a smile on our faces to reach the colombian ecuatorian boarder, my Bike broke down. The DCT wasn't shifting anymore and every 500m I had to stop and restart the bike to make some meters, because it went to neutral. The only thing which I was concerned it could go wrong with the DCT transmission on the Africa Twin which could go wrong, went wrong. Murphys law. It happened not far away from the next Honda Dealer, so I rolled to the dealer to get a new ABS Cable. On the way I lost Rocio cause she couldn't cross a street because of 5 wild horses crossing the main street and me occupied riding my bike somehow. Drama. She was without Data and disappeared. More stress, more terrible disaster. The one cable I fixed on the bike did a well job: it lasted from Mexico to south Colombia. The problem was that at the dealer, the mechanic told me, the cable is not on stock and I would have to drive to Bogota to get one. Not a good idea. It was Saturday and Bogota far away. What a terrible disaster. I better would have bought the cable in Medellin when I was nearby big honda dealers, but yeah... in my mind I was driving with my personally professional fixed cable around the world. We opened the cable, welded it together, this time for real professionally, and isolated the cable. In the end we also changed the wiring of the ABS cable, which was accidently wired with a lot of tension which caused the first breakdown in Chetumal. I was ready to go on, but Rocio still wasn't there. She then contacted me via WhatsApp telling me, she would wait for me at the Yamaha Dealer, and at 1 PM we left Popayan to Pasto with a lot of sweat and relief. The scenery of the green mountains going down to the lower zones was breathtaking. We enjoyed the ride a lot and managed to get to Pasto when it was getting dark. There we stayed at a cheap love motel. Pasto is quite nice, clean and cold because of its altitude.
