Today is the first national competition of the year where an NPC figure girl will become an IFBB pro. This is the first national show where I am paying more attention to the figure girls than the bikini girls and it has me super pumped. Practicing posing in between my sets a little this morning. To date, this is the best rebound I’ve had out of a show and once again, I have my coach to thank, who while peaking athletes for a national show, is still modifying my plan, checking in with me and making sure I’m on track.

I've changed my show plans again. I decided it's better for me both physically and mentally to not to a show in June. Instead, I am going to take a diet break, just counting macros, and work on building some muscle. Right now, my plan is to compete at the Dexter Classic in September.

Now I’m not a nutritionist and I’m not going to tell you how or what to eat.. but I will say from experience that people tend to really over do this whole nutrition thing.⠀

I’m guilty of googling “best fruit for fat loss” and “lowest calorie vegetable to lose weight”. LMAO MICHELA THEY ARE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES JESUS. But honestly I think I lot of people can relate to wanting to perfect every part of their diet.⠀

In reality, it’s all about BALANCE. Even though I think that word is very overused on the fitness world now, I think it’s the only way to describe a sustainable diet. Don’t eat like a shit head with chips candy and cookies for 5 days straight. Get your greens 🥬 , get your fruits 🍎 , carbs and protein and you’re good to go! And have a cookie when you want! ⠀

That’s just what I’ve found works best for me cause if I ever say “no cookies 🍪 , no sugar, no carbs...” Guess what I want a few days later?! All the sugar 😂 I’m creating a body that will be LONG TERM... not just for the summer and not just for vanity. This is my body for life ❤️⠀

My traps and sometimes shoulders often try and compensate when I am lifting heavy on back exercises. I am continually working to try and maximize how much weight I am lifting without activating other muscle groups. Next time you’re lifting, really focus on squeezing the muscle you’re working. If you’re just going through the motions lifting or pushing the weight without intention, you’re likely not isolating the muscle you’re trying to work! 
As I always say, I am not perfect, my coach often sends me notes about my movements.

Quando vi lamentate per la dieta, o perché avete fame, quando millantate i vostri sacrifici perché non potete mangiare le tagliatelle di nonna Pina o la pizza di zio Gennaro..quando lo fate, pensare a tutta quella povera gente che per del riso e un po' di pollo sarebbe disposta a inginocchiarsi, a chiedere l'elemosina. Guardate questo piatto e ditemi cosa c'è da lamentarsi. Questa vita l'abbiamo scelta noi e siamo pure stati fortunati a poterlo fare. Non è per tutti e se vi pesa probabilmente non fa per voi. .

Adding more plant based proteins...lentils in my lunch in place of about 10 grams of ground Turkey protein. I treat lentils as a source of carbs and the protein is a bonus.

After 2 weeks of diet break my plan is to do something a little bit different. I will change my diet and I will add cardio sessions.

So.. I will be eating 2000 calories for 3 days and than one day 2400 calories. 400 calories will be mostly carbs and this is going to be a mini refeed day. 
Protein is at 180grams per day and fats are at 60grams per day, rest of the calories are carbs!
_
I will be doing 6 cardio sessions per week. Nothing crazy... 4 of them are 20 minutes low intensity sessions and 2 of them are 10 HIIT intervals. Every week I will add 5 minutes to every low intensity session. 
_
My plan is to lose 3-4kg during the next 6 weeks.

Idrolitina per reagire
Sopra ho messo uno yogurt (che penso sia il gusto al pistacchio più buono che abbia mai assaggiato, é della @valsoiaofficial a base di latte vegetale di mandorla al pistacchi) e sopra ho aggiunto delle 50 gr di fragole fresche e dei pistacchi.
Ora posso cominciare la giornata come si deve 😜💪🏻

LAT MACHINE PRESA INVERSA 
è una variante della latmachine per allenare il dorso ma che grazie alla supinazione sposta un pò di lavoro anche sul bicipite e l'avambraccio. E' un esercizio che nel lungo perido su soggetti esposti potrebbe dar fastidi articolari sopratutto al gomito ma se non vi provoca fastidi può essere una valida alternativa. Quando eseguite questo esercizio cercate di non buttarvi indietro per cercare di caricare di più, perchè in qualche modo state compensando un carico che non riuscite a gestire. Il movimento diventerà quindi più simile ad un pulley e perderà la sua efficiacia. Sfruttate tutto il range di movimento dato che è un esercizio che lo permette, mantenendo sempre la schiena più dritta possibile, le scapole addotte e depresse con il petto in fuori. In fase concetrica invece portate la barra fino alla clavicola e controllate sempre tutto il movimento. E' una variante che so apprezzando, anche se a dire il vero amo un pò tutti gli esercizi per il dorso.

If you are still doing some kind of bro split and you are not seeing results, start training your muscles 2-3 times per week. Training each muscle group 2 times per week has been shown over and over to be better than doing traditional bro split.

Push/Pull routine is a great split. This split is even better then Upper/Lower if you want to prioritize your upper body more.

During a prep, you just stack up the days. One day at a time, you put in the work. When you get to the end of it and you’re one day out, you think of all those individual days-some harder than others. Sometimes things didn’t go as planned and you had to come up with solutions. Reflecting on all those days, it’s sort of overwhelming. All the days, the time in the gym, the hours of cardio, the calculated nutrition, all the water, getting in your sleep...and here you are with the end result. You’re one day out, the work is done, it’s just time to tan and glam up and show the judges what you’ve worked on. 🔥 Negli ultimi anni c’è la moda che chiunque si alleni in ambito fitness-palestra debba per forza gareggiare. Se non si hanno le caratteristiche fisiche adeguate o non si è geneticamente portati non ce ne sono di cazzate che tengano, si sta casa; non ha senso cavalcare un palco per poi fare solo ed esclusivamente figure di merda. 
Se si nasce sotto forma di una panda 🚙, puoi anche mettere sotto il cofano il motore di una Ferrari 🏎, ma una panda rimarrà sempre una fottuta panda, una Ferrari rimarrà sempre una cazzo di Ferrari 🏎 ☝️ .

Ricetta salata finalmente
Un piatto semplice ma buonissimo e sopratutto completo.
CARBOIDRATI > riso e quinoa🍚
GRASSI E PROTEINE> salmone fresco🐟
FIBRE> zucchine🥒
C 50 F12 P 30
Ho marinato il salmone con del limone e del pepe e tagliato a cubetti.
Cotto circa 250 gr di zucchine  a rondelle in una padella antiaderente con un filo d'acqua, paprica e un mix di spezie.
Sbollettato 70 gr di mix di riso e quinoa @barillaitalia e dopo di che ho messo tutto in un coppa pasta 💁🏻‍♀️
Nulla di troppo complicato, ma gustoso e nutriente. 
Il salmone è una fonte proteolipidica ricchissima di omega3 (EPA E DHA 0,8-1,1gr per 100 gr) , magnesio, vitamina B6, B12 e potassio.
La quinoa è un cereale che contiene un buon contenuto di lisina, polifenoli e flavonoidi ed è naturalmente privo di glutine, adatto a chi è intollerante a questo allergene. .

If I'm being honest, I did not give this prep 100%. However, I feel like I learned alot and I've definitely done much better with this prep than my first prep. And that's the goal, to keep on improving. I'm ready to have a fun weekend in Nashville, learn even more, and eat all the foods. Then Monday it's going to be a fresh start to prep for #battleattheriver .
