🧘🏽‍♀️Firefly Pose requires the hamstring, core, and adductors to be warmed up. This is one of those poses that is hard to do. Don’t beat yourself up over it. There is no perfect pose. Have fun with the process and just know that you are further along today than you were yesterday.

💪These wall sits, with a yoga block, will really target the adductor muscles. These will help firefly pose. It is important for the legs to be able to hug around the body so they do not slip off the arms. The adductors run along the inside of the thigh and can increase strength and stability and core firmness. Try these out for 30 seconds and watch your practice improve!

🧠When working on proper positions, go slow and be mindful as you move. The body/mind connection is powerful and can help you find proper alignment.

This posture is a modification coming out of #lolasana. It is a transition to #dandasana & in this picture I am suspended using #yogablocks for extra height. This is working to strengthen the wrists, hands, arms & shoulders as well as the abdominals. This is a posture I have been unable to access for a prolonged period of time partially due to a shoulder injury where there is extreme intermittent pain, stiffness & limited range of motion. I also believe experience with trauma & emotional pain can be held in areas associated with the physical pain possibly causing injuries to become longer & more difficult to rehabilitate. I also believe practice, self discipline & meditation have allowed me an understanding to a path of recovery both physically and mentally. Healthy habits are powerful medicine & are a function of memory, manifesting throughout our physical body & mind. This aspect of memory through a prolonged commitment to training becomes a conscious understanding thus aiding in the healing and/or recovery process. Yoga has truly been a saving grace & continues to teach & imprint on me in mind, body & spirit. 🦋

Nothing like getting in the gym and hitting the old chest and shoulder workout. Shortcut to strength brought to you by @jimstoppani on @bodybuildingcom all access . This workout was intense. 5 sets of 8 reps. Building my strength and working on my weaknesses which has been my chest and shoulders. Not only did i get a good pump but it's also a great cardio workout.  Who knew that you can elevate your heart rate with strength training. I love this workout because I can feel the tension and i love how my body is progressing eventhough its only week 2. I'm excited to continue to build a bigger, stronger, better version of me. Give this workout a try. Always continue to evolve. Work on your weaknesses. Become a better version of yourself whether you're in the gym or outside the gym. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Also, building muscle in the legs helps give them shape and the more muscle you have higher your metabolic rate which = more overall fat loss. Don’t neglect your legs ladies. Besides, great hamstrings and quads are sexy too. Personally, I couldn’t give up Romanian deadlifts. They’re one of my favorite movements for hamstrings. .

We had a beautiful day yesterday for our Volunteer Picnic at our Bethlehem homes! These homes are nearing completion and will be dedicated this fall. We’re grateful that so many of our volunteers and their families were able to join us for food, drinks, and house tours! We had a beautiful day yesterday for our Volunteer Picnic at our Bethlehem homes! These homes are nearing completion and will be dedicated this fall. We’re grateful that so many of our volunteers and their families were able to join us for food, drinks, and house tours! Yesterday I decided to only eat a carnivore style ketogenic diet. Today I was bouncing off the walls with energy and my front squat jumped by 25 lb. Maybe there is a correlation. I haven’t even been doing any front squats. This is 155lb up from 130 a couple of months ago. This was also my fourth set because I kept having to add weight so it’s a huge bump up.😱

The difference is the two begins with the bar placement on your back. High bar squats have the bar high on your traps. Low bar squats are placed on your rear delts a few inches lower.

High bar squats keep your torso more upright, placing more of the load on your quads.

Low bar squats force you to lean more forward and use more drive from your glutes and hamstrings.

Regardless of the type, the same squat cues still apply. Keep a neutral spine and drive your knees out.

Generally speaking you'll be able to push more weight with a low bar squat because your hips are able to handle more.

But for the average person, one isn't better than the other. I recommend getting variety in your program by switching back and forth from time to time.

The basic plank setup is simple⁣. But is a challenging isometric exercise, working against gravity, which helps improves core strength, endurance, posture and stability. .⠀⠀
Assume a modified push-up position with your elbows bent 90 degrees and both forearms resting on the floor.

Position your elbows directly underneath your shoulders and look straight toward the floor. ⁣
.⠀⠀⠀
Your body should form a perfectly straight line from the crown of your head to your heels. ⁣⠀

Keep your core braced and dont let the hips sag.
.⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your feet are together with only the toes touching the floor. ⠀
.
Time your efforts, aim for 30 seconds if possible and build from there, adding 5 or 10 secs each week. Once u can do around 90 secs, you can add some resistance, which I'll show in another post.💪

Cycling is a fabulous complimentary activity to Sport Walking &, in fact, it’s really good strength training too. Just make sure you don’t push too hard, so your legs can get stronger not get damaged.
