Want to do bodyweight tricep dips? Do this exercise first! If your strength isn’t there yet to fully do a tricep dip, work your way up to it by training the muscles used through cable exercises.
—
Tips:
- the lower the seat, the more you will activate the muscles used in a tricep dip (chest, triceps, shoulders).
- the higher the seat, the more you will isolate your triceps.
- actively push your shoulders down and out of your ears (don’t let them shrug up on the compression)
- think about squeezing the tricep muscle on the extension
- switch between slow and controlled movements (time under tension) and quick explosive movements.
- BURN OUT! Up the weight on each set until your triceps/chest/shoulders are burnt out, this will train the muscles to adapt to the workload and get you closer to being able to dip your bodyweight.

If you could only choose 6 exercises, these are probably the ones you should use.

Although there are no exercises that actually cause fat loss, these ones are my staples for a few reasons.

One, they give you the most bang for your buck. Each one hits a bunch of muscle groups so you don't spend hours doing leg extensions to get enough workload on your quads.

Second, each one takes the primary muscle through a large range of motion so you can train all the muscle fibers.

Third, they allow you to work in a variety of rep ranges and focus on progressive overload. This way, you can increase strength and muscle long-term.
