Hey, #CanadianCinematographer peeps! Greetings from the far West Coast of BC (where I live)—or, more accurately, from Denmark (where I am). I am your host for the next couple of weeks, and I’m excited to be a part of the community here! Thanks to #GregoryMiddletonAscCsc for handing it off—pretty tough act to follow... I’m a relatively rare breed of #cinematographer , as I primarily work in #computeranimation ( #pixaranimationstudios , #sonypicturesanimation , #aardmananimations , #warnerbrothers , #legendaryentertainment ), and as an independent filmmaker across a variety of media. I’d like to thank #carolynwongCsc for inviting and encoraging me to share my work with you on this plarform and the #canadiansocietyofcinematographers for recognizing the artistry and vitality of #cinematography in animation, particularly in nominating my work on ‘Ballerina’ (Leap!) last year in #lighting and #colourdesign .
I look forward to sharing a bit of insight into this rich medium for #visualstorytelling and #cinematicdesign . Hope you guys find this animation #DoP diversion interesting! (Note in these pics that most of my work involves either huddling behind a computer or behind a group of people huddling behind a computer, so please bear with the lack of dramatic on-set pics. I think Greg shared enough awesome stuff like that to last us the two weeks... 😉)
