Let me count the ways I measure my #transformation!! When I started #transform20 this workout made me think I picked the wrong program. It was so hard. My core was so weak that I couldn’t do either transformer. I was so frustrated that I tried to do it the whole minute and failed. I cried. I was super discouraged. But I pressed play the next day. Breakfast Quiche⁣⠀⠀
12 eggs⁣⠀⠀
10 (or so) slices of sugar free bacon⁣⠀⠀
½ onion, diced⁣⠀⠀
2 C mushrooms, sliced⁣⠀⠀
6 C spinach, roughly chopped⁣⠀⠀
¼ - ½ C full fat coconut milk⁣⠀⠀
1 tsp garlic powder⁣⠀⠀
1 tsp paprika⁣⠀⠀
1 tsp salt⁣⠀⠀
1 tsp pepper⁣⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀
Preheat oven to 400F. Heat a cast iron pan or other oven safe pan over medium heat. Add in the bacon and onion to cook, adding the mushrooms towards the end. Add in spinach. Crack the eggs into a large bowl and add coconut milk and spices, whisking everything together to combine. Once the bacon is finished, mix everything together in a greased pan or the same oven safe skillet. Cook the eggs through. Then enjoy!⁣ Don’t forget to tag us in your recipes!!

First Meal: You should have it within an hour of wake up to stimulate protein synthesis early and reduce the time spent in a catabolic state 🍳
#
Pre-Workout: Time your pre-workout meal at least 30 minutes before training, in order to reduce gastric distress. However, no more than 4 hours prior to training to train with high energy and amino acids in your blood stream 🏋🏻‍♂️
#
Post-Workout: Consume your post-workout meal within an hour of finishing your training in order to begin post-training recovery and anabolism 💪
#
Pre-Bed Meal: Have slow-digesting protein within an hour before going to bed to get a slow delivery of amino acids into your blood stream over several hours 😴
#
Other Meals: Add meals as needed for even meal distribution throughout the day. Try to schedule these meals to have a protein feeding every 3-5 hours, depending on your preference and availability 👌
#
Inevitably, this will raise questions about fasting. While fasting is not optimal for anabolism, if fasting allows you to adhere to your diet then feel free to keep doing it!! 👍

In honor of graduating from Bradley University 5 years ago, here is my #transformationtuesday picture for not only myself, but my sweet son.

The fact that he is almost taller than me is terrifying. Where did my baby boy go?

Couple of fun facts you may not know about me...
—> I was a “teen mom” and had my son my senior year of high school - and am happily married to my high school sweet heart. 💓
—> I got my bachelors degree in 3 years, while working and raising a child. 👩🏼‍🎓

It was never easy, I’ve always worked hard at whatever I do in life, and my son has always been my biggest motivation.

If you told me as a child that my sister and I would be best friends.. I would have laughed in your face. 
But. She is the person I have always craved. Really diggin the adult us because we basically got a do over on this whole sister relationship thing. Plus, she is like the best aunt on the planet and will show lehna how cool it is to be smart, strong & independent. Because those things matter so much more than exterior beauty.. which is why I don’t tell lehna she is beautiful. I tell her she is strong. She is capable. 
She is immaculate. 
But, I mean I tell her she is beautiful, but I do my best not to overuse because looks really don’t matter as much as character.

It’s not about physically taking care of yourself for abs, it’s about taking care of yourself for your mental health. Happiness and fulfillment is the only transformation I worry about for myself and my challengers. •Don’t limit your challenges, challenge your limits•

Today’s workout proved to be a non-scale victory, which usually measures my progress more than the scale does! When I started my journey, almost immediately I started experiencing knee pain that I figured out was from inflammation in my body from not taking care of myself.

Two years of not exercising regularly and eating nothing but sugar and processed foods wrecked my health. My body couldn’t perform the way I wanted it to until I cleaned up my eating habits and slowly eased back into exercising.

Today I did an entire extreme plyometric workout (AKA all the jumping you could image) without any modifications and without any knee pain! I have worked on my form very carefully to correct my knee pain! & I have challenged myself to throw out my old habits and create healthy new ones!

I do these healthy habits CONSISTENTLY every single day so I don’t have to suffer like I used to!

We all have those obstacles or things that we feel like limit us! Like we’re not good enough or we’ll never get past it! But challenge those limits and prove to yourself that NOTHING can limit you! 
I’ll be there to back you up & tell you ‘you CAN do it!’
