Day 3 of Half Marathon PB training. .
Today was another day of rest or cross training but of course I chose to train. I’m not good at having a rest day unless I’m injured. .

Today I did some #deadlift (not too heavy. Just 3 sets of 40kgs then 3sets of 50kgs) 
and some banded glutes, core exercises between. Then 20mins #boxing Then 10mins #stretching of course. .
.
But from tomorrow it’s all about running. From now on only one day a week is for rest or cross training then it’s running, running and running....... .

Today was another day of rest or cross training but of course I chose to train. I’m not good at having a rest day unless I’m injured. .

Today I did some #deadlift (not too heavy. Just 3 sets of 40kgs then 3sets of 50kgs)
and some banded glutes, core exercises between. Then 20mins #boxing Then 10mins #stretching of course. .

Developing strict strength and core strength is the importance of both plans, we wouldn’t try and skip the strength process in trying to go from say a 120 to 140 Clean so the same principles should be applied to gymnastics.

All movements target muscle groups for each skill and as we progress through the weeks the drills differ to mimic the actual movements and aim to build intensity upon what’s already been done, an example: -
* week 0-4 on the pull up plan focuses around ring rows + Negative pull ups.
* Week 4-8 a vertical low ring pull up and 2 more weeks negatives.
* Week 8-12 jumping + Banded pull ups with the aim to reduce assistance weekly. Both programmes are relaunching again with the sign up release SOOON.  @equationtrain @crossfit_galleon #TeamGalleon #equationtraining

Si no tenemos un core y músculos fuertes lo más probable es que vengan luego las lesiones✖️, dolores de rodilla, de espalda, de cuello etc. A mí me pasó, y lo único que me ayudó a recuperar mi rodilla de una tendinitis fue el fortalecimiento🧐.

A parte de prevenir lesiones, mientras más fortalezcamos nuestro core🤸‍♀️, brazos💪, glúteos🍑, espalda y piernas🦵, vamos a optimizar la estabilidad, el pedaleo, la transferencia de la fuerza y nos fatigamos menos🚴‍♀️💨 •
⚠️OJO, es muy importante una valoración previa y estar siempre dirigidos por expertos, no es bueno inventar. Yo voy de la mano con mi profe @eccojfg y mi @road21ns @lilicardenassanchez.

😅Por ejemplo, cuando me paro en pedales me agito mucho y es porque me falta fuerza en mis bracitos de "spaguetti" para poder sostenerme y balancear la bici. Así que aquí vamos trabajando en las debilidades y lo mejor es que desde mi casa lo puedo hacer y con pocos accesorios hago miles de ejercicios para diferentes zonas.
Les recomiendo @fitshopco  tienen de todo en su nuevo centro de experiencia o si no tienen tiempo, compran online y les llega directo a la casa.

What keeps me going? There's certainly been different stages in my motivation over the years. In the start I just acknowledged that I had potential to be better and that was enough to keep me excited and motivated.

Later when I started to face more adversity, my motivation and whole self-image went through a crisis. I questioned everything I was doing. There were times that desperation was my biggest motivator and I just forced myself to push on.

I came to accept my limitations and realized they're just a part of life. It's also not so much about me anymore. There's responsibility over other people's well-being as well. Now my opportunity to help others and do what I love keeps me going.

For me working through handstand progressions makes for an outstanding workout. Move by move you can focus and build the layers and prime you body in key areas. Shoulders wrists and core get a major workout as you build strength that will transfer to many other movements. You don't have to be proficient in the handstand to benefit from the strength gain the movement has to offer. Layer by layer day by day we build.

For me working through handstand progressions makes for an outstanding workout. Move by move you can focus and build the layers and prime you body in key areas. Shoulders wrists and core get a major workout as you build strength that will transfer to many other movements. You don't have to be proficient in the handstand to benefit from the strength gain the movement has to offer. Layer by layer day by day we build.

• 🔑 points for a deadlift: 
1) spine is neutral - meaning natural low back and upper back curves, not accentuated at all! Core so tight these angles won’t change. KEEP CHIN SLIGHTLY TUCKED! Notice how my head never moves. 
2) GLUTES control the movement! No “strippers” where you swirl up through your spine. Practice without weights, sliding your hips back feeling your glutes expand, and then fire up through your heels and glutes as they squeeze and force you up to stand. 
3) LATS! Keep shoulders pulled towards your hips the whole time. “Shoulders back” can sometimes have people shrug their upper back towards their ears, we want the shoulders (which help control the lats) reaching for your tailbone, thus contracting the lats so that they are holding the weight and it a rounded chest and improper spine. Your glutes and lats connect to each other, so use them together! 
4) BREATHE!!!! Inhale down, exhale the whole way up. Use your diaphragm / belly. Don’t hold your breath and exhale at the top.

Deadlifts were anything but great today. The past two weeks are catching up to me... lack of sleep and missing meals. I'm ready to get back on track with my normal routine and start my new training block 🙌

MIKEY. A long standing member now for over 2 and half years. He’s in 4-5 days a week whilst working as a tiler in a newly launched business with his Ol’ Man Big Eug. 
_
One trait Mikey has shown throughout is drive/motivation. Especially in learning and developing movements! Coming from a running background he had a good base of fitness so really focused on his strength, lifting and gymnastics! Safe to say he’s made huge progress nailing in PBS across all his strength lifts, clean and jerk, snatch AAAAAND Handstand push ups, pull ups, toes to bar, Muscle ups 🤩

A testament to consistency  and drive to work at your best. Also I reckon being super competitive with father and Connor has something to do with it 🤣😆 but friendly completion brings the good out sometimes! -
This dude is competing on a Galleon team this weekend and we can’t wait to see all the hard work pay off and wish him/the team all the best, no luck needed due to their hard training. Go have fun!🔥 _
