Road trip necessities: a good podcast and lots of snacks.  We started listening to the podcast Serial, anyone else hooked?  As for the snacks, I will admit, usually I use this time as an excuse to eat all my favorite junk food, but I’ve been trying to be more mindful.  While I wouldn’t choose all of these snacks on a regular basis, there’s a good balance.  Here are some ideas! Aiming for 20-40g of protein in your post workout meal or snack is a great way to kickstart recovery. Although overall throughout a day our protein requirements will vary person to person depending on your training intensity & duration, your muscle mass/weight and performance or body composition goals - talk to your Sports Dietitian.⁣

Research shows that 2g of Leucine is needed to release the initiation factor to kickstart muscle protein synthesis. What is leucine - an essential amino acid (EAA), meaning our body can’t produce it so therefore we need to consume it through food sources. ⁣

So what foods provide protein? The usual suspects chicken, meat, fish, eggs, yoghurt, milk, legumes, nuts, seeds, tofu etc. The difference between these protein sources is their biological value (BV) meaning how well your body can absorb and utilise the protein. For instance eggs are of high BV but legumes e.g. beans are quite low. Those who follow a vegan diet need to keep an eye on their intake of EAA’s as they’re not as readily available in plant food sources. ⁣

Now there is a lot more to muscle gain than just protein. In order for your body to build the muscle it need energy aka calories - this includes your carbohydrates & fats. To build muscle you need to be in a calorie surplus. ⁣

The above protein foods are by no means your only options, they’re just ideas, and some for convenience too so you can kickstart your recovery post exercise if you’re not in your home environment.

ついに今日から臨月!!!
こむたん36週入りました!!!ナイスファイト!!! そんなわけで
栄養満点さばニラ玉子そばでおはようございます🌞✨ 臨月になって
友達ママたちが
「つわりよりキツかった」
「一刻も早く出てきてほしいと思ってた」
「体痛すぎて泣いた」

って言ってた意味が分かりました🤣✨ (私の場合はつわりがしんどすぎたので今はつわりに比べればだいぶ楽ですが笑)

それにしても
昨夜もこむたんキックによる吐き気、食道&胃痛、全身のえも言われぬ痒みでほぼ無睡👍

睡眠不足は精神疾患持ちにとって大きな危険因子のため
なかなか綱渡りな日々でございます🤣

妊娠自体の辛さは、こむの可愛さと終わりがある期間限定感でそんなに辛くはないのですが(もちろん痛いし苦しいけど、苦痛ではない)
そこから引き起こされる鬱&摂食の悪化が要注意ですね👍

私の摂食ちゃんは、宿主の私が体調不良だと本気出してくるので(まあ自傷のためなので正しい症状の出方なのですが)

妊婦の辛さを2倍にも3倍にもしてくれます。

だから、とにかく、10分でも15分でもいいから寝ること。

寝られなくても横になること。

それらを意識して過ごしています。

そのためにしていることは
◇今ここに意識を向けるマインドフルネスの時間を多めにとる(座禅瞑想、方鼻呼吸(アロマ使いながら)、胎動に意識を集中させる、眠れない時はいっそのこと諦めて電気を付けて今ここを自覚する)
◇眠れなくても横になる(吐かないように頭部を高めに、クッション使ってシムスの体位に、youtubeの快眠ミュージックやセロトニン分泌ミュージックをかける)
◇過去の辛さと比べたら今はそんなに辛くないことに着目する(今までで一番辛かったのはボリビアでの謎の感染症&高山病による呼吸困難だったので、それを思い出す。吐いて吐いて吐いて下痢して腹痛で熱出て息できなかった。病院に搬送されるも全員スペイン語で何言ってるか分からないし、病院めっちゃ汚いし、そんな中で点滴刺され血抜かれ「インフェクション」「血圧低くてやべーよ」と言われ薬処方され、なんの薬か分からないのを飲みながら残りの旅を続けた。まじで死ぬかと思った。それと比べればこんなの余裕のよっちゃん!!)
◇過去の楽しい思い出に浸り痛みが去るのを待つ(写真見る、友達からの手紙を読む、子宮の痛みも体の痒みも胃痛食道痛も波があるから波が弱まったタイミングで浅くても寝る)

そんな感じです!

ついに今日から臨月!!!
こむたん36週入りました!!!ナイスファイト!!! そんなわけで
栄養満点さばニラ玉子そばでおはようございます🌞✨ 臨月になって
友達ママたちが
「つわりよりキツかった」
「一刻も早く出てきてほしいと思ってた」
「体痛すぎて泣いた」

って言ってた意味が分かりました🤣✨ (私の場合はつわりがしんどすぎたので今はつわりに比べればだいぶ楽ですが笑)

それにしても
昨夜もこむたんキックによる吐き気、食道&胃痛、全身のえも言われぬ痒みでほぼ無睡👍

睡眠不足は精神疾患持ちにとって大きな危険因子のため
なかなか綱渡りな日々でございます🤣

妊娠自体の辛さは、こむの可愛さと終わりがある期間限定感でそんなに辛くはないのですが(もちろん痛いし苦しいけど、苦痛ではない)
そこから引き起こされる鬱&摂食の悪化が要注意ですね👍

私の摂食ちゃんは、宿主の私が体調不良だと本気出してくるので(まあ自傷のためなので正しい症状の出方なのですが)

妊婦の辛さを2倍にも3倍にもしてくれます。

だから、とにかく、10分でも15分でもいいから寝ること。

寝られなくても横になること。

それらを意識して過ごしています。

そのためにしていることは
◇今ここに意識を向けるマインドフルネスの時間を多めにとる(座禅瞑想、方鼻呼吸(アロマ使いながら)、胎動に意識を集中させる、眠れない時はいっそのこと諦めて電気を付けて今ここを自覚する)
◇眠れなくても横になる(吐かないように頭部を高めに、クッション使ってシムスの体位に、youtubeの快眠ミュージックやセロトニン分泌ミュージックをかける)
◇過去の辛さと比べたら今はそんなに辛くないことに着目する(今までで一番辛かったのはボリビアでの謎の感染症&高山病による呼吸困難だったので、それを思い出す。吐いて吐いて吐いて下痢して腹痛で熱出て息できなかった。病院に搬送されるも全員スペイン語で何言ってるか分からないし、病院めっちゃ汚いし、そんな中で点滴刺され血抜かれ「インフェクション」「血圧低くてやべーよ」と言われ薬処方され、なんの薬か分からないのを飲みながら残りの旅を続けた。まじで死ぬかと思った。それと比べればこんなの余裕のよっちゃん!!)
◇過去の楽しい思い出に浸り痛みが去るのを待つ(写真見る、友達からの手紙を読む、子宮の痛みも体の痒みも胃痛食道痛も波があるから波が弱まったタイミングで浅くても寝る)

そんな感じです!

95% of my clients end up having sluggish thyroids and we see out of balance thyroid hormones.  Many of these women have gotten testing by their doctors and are told everything looks normal. I recommend a full thyroid panel that includes TSH, free T3, free T4, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies.  But you ALSO need to make sure the person interpreting your labs are looking at them from a functional perspective.💁‍♀️ .

😤 In the last three days, I’ve had multiple people tell me they feel frustrated that the way they’re eating is disrupting their ability to enjoy life. It ranges from being distracted and irritated to being afraid of food to feeling desperate and hopeless, like they’ll feel that way forever. .
FOOD 👏🏼 IS 👏🏼 NOT 👏🏼 SUPPOSED 👏🏼 TO 👏🏼 MAKE 👏🏼 YOU 👏🏼 FEEL 👏🏼 BAD

Where are they getting this “lifestyle” advice? Oh, you know. Typical diet culture hangouts like  the gym, the office, the media. But as @kristenmurrayrd said, diets prescribed by doctors or dietitians are still diets. Dietitians, for some of you this might ruffle your feathers and if it does, please know this isn’t a personal attack on you. This isn’t “me vs. you”, it’s an “us vs. diet culture” and regardless of what you do (for anyone who isn’t a dietitian) we can ALL do better about calling out diet culture bull💩 when we see it! Everyone benefits from creating a world that’s more size-inclusive and less fat phobic.

Dieting behaviors can show up when you aren’t “on a diet”. Disordered thoughts about food or your body can, too. Overcompensating for or micromanaging food to control the size of your body? Yep, that’s a diet.
.
😩 We need to stop thinking about health and weight as being one and the same. It is possible to manage a diagnosis, treat your body well, or still value health and reject dieting at the same time. I see people do it every day. Intuitive eating can be for everyone, if you’re ready to go there.
.
Because I’ve yet to hear of a “lifestyle” (read: diet) that doesn’t leave some level of guilt or stress around food. You deserve to enjoy your: birthday, holidays, family events, vacations, work trips, study abroad trips, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, your daily life WITHOUT that distraction or fear or frustration. God knows there are enough other things in this world that contribute enough of that // I’m done now

Let me take the pressure off... that’s actually NOT your job.

Far too often (myself included) we feel RESPONSIBLE for how much our kids eat... but guess what? Aside from force feeding them, there is NOTHING you can do to make them open, chew, swallow. Repeat.
. 
The battles you experience at the table and over food aren’t really about food. They are about control. Wanting from the pit of your stomach to make sure that your kiddo gets enough, gets good nutrients and doesn’t feel hungry. . 
What your kiddo wants is autonomy and independence and someone to say “I hear you, you don’t think that looks great right now. I get it!”
. 
Try this for your next meal... offer a variety of foods (including 1 they like, even if it’s a piece of bread). Don’t bribe, don’t pressure, don’t even pay attention to how much they eat (IF they eat) cause mama, you’ve done your job.
. 
See how the atmosphere changes. See how the meal feels, see how the tension melts from both you and your babe. . 
And let it be known, that feeding our children can be like this.

One of my favorite things to do online and with clients is to break down the science. The human body is so cool and I hate the ways in which our culture warps that to make us fearful of food. So today on the blog I am breaking down CALORIES: what they are, why they are necessary, and why the premise of calories in calories out is flawed. And most importantly, that even if all of this was accurate and we could manipulate the equation it would be irrelevant.

Your body is super smart and you do not need to rely on outside information to meet your needs. We are born with a connection to our bodies but are taught to fight against it over time via dieting and ignoring our needs. With time and you can get back to it and trust that you don’t need to track calories to be healthy.

يتم إتلاف الأنسجة العضلية بشكل كامل وقت التمارين للعضله المعنيه ويؤدي الاتلاف الى الإلتهابات في الأنسجة العضلية بسبب الشد اثناء التمرين على العضلات ولا داعي للخوف من هذا الشيء لان كل ما حدثت هذه الامور كل مازادت قوة العضله وبانت نتايج التمارين💪

Una delle situazioni cliniche che mi trovo spesso ad affrontare con i miei pazienti è la SINDROME METABOLICA.

Si tratta di una malattia complessa ed eterogenea che si verifica quando l’aumento eccessivo sia del peso che della massa grassa altera alcuni parametri del corpo, come la pressione arteriosa, il colesterolo e la glicemia.

La sindrome metabolica viene diagnosticata quando sono presenti almeno tre dei cinque fattori di rischio: ✅ Aumentata circonferenza addominale (≥ 94cm negli uomini e ≥ 80 cm nelle donne);
✅ Aumentata pressione arteriosa (≥ 130/85 mmHg);
✅ Trigliceridi alti (≥ 150 mg/dl);
✅ Colesterolo HDL “buono” basso (≤ 40 mg/dl negli uomini e ≤ 50 mg/dl nelle donne);
✅ Glicemia a digiuno elevata (≥ 100 mg/dl). Trascurare questi aspetti e continuare a seguire uno stile di vita sbagliato può portare a conseguenze davvero dannose per la salute, come il diabete di tipo 2 o altri rischi cardiovascolari.

Grazie ad un percorso dietetico deciso insieme, la sindrome metabolica può essere sconfitta definitivamente. Si parla infatti di DOWNSTAGING o regressione di tale patologia.

Personalmente sono soddisfatto di poter affermare che attraverso un percorso dietetico mirato e la piena collaborazione del paziente si può affrontare ed eliminare questa problematica. 💪 Tornare al peso ottimale, avere un miglioramento dei parametri delle analisi cliniche e tornare in piena salute sono tre obiettivi che possono essere realizzati sicuramente!
