🔑 Importance of Rest 🔑 •
Might of been few days ago but the progress is still the same. Felt body needed a rest from long work shifts and going to gym so late and I’m definitely feel good! Rest is very important no matter what it may be. Work, School, or Gym because your effort will show! Don’t push yourself to an extreme state if your not fully rested or fueled up because it can cause negative effects! Before I lived in an apartment building that is like Fort Knox for deliveries and the Bermuda Triangle for packages, I was an avid #hellofresh fan. One of my favourites was this cheeky number at 688 calories. I have never really had a penchant for #fizzydrinks other than #dietcoke (I’d happily glug it from an ice cold can with condensation dripping down it to satisfy a thirst, and the clink of ice in a cold glass of it on a warm day seems to quench my desire for something fizzy and sweet) BUT....then I tried #canadadry #gingeralewithlemonade and it is so satisfying - not too sharp with ginger and just enough sweet from the diet lemonade - absolutely perfect from the fridge in a cold can when the apartment you live in hasn’t turned the air con on yet and it’s 26 degrees! Sugar cravings in Ramadan are extremely normal, as the body’s glucose reserves can get somehow low due to fasting...🤦🏻‍♀️
Therefore, it’s ok to indulge yourself with some dessert 🍨🧁🍰🍧
HOWEVER, you can either have diet sweets (wich can be delicious by the way depending on who’s making them!!!), a protein bar or some dark chocolate, or else you can have a few dates with flavored greek yogurt or a glass of fresh juice🥤
If you insist on having your regular, non-diet Ramadan sweets (qatayef, kunafa, etc), eat only a small portion, not exceeding 400- 450 calories, and make sure you have your sweets <<BEFORE>> NOT after you exercise (⚠️Simple carbs lead to a high blood sugar spike along with its side effects, therefore resulting in too much insulin release from the pancreas: too much insulin —> increased fat storage —> weight gain ⚠️)

Losing all this weight has been a trip. 127 pounds ago I had trouble walking at @Disneyland and always had to leave a couple after I arrived. Now I walk to and from the parking structure, and walk both parks with ease. Thank you @myfitnesspal for the discount on my new @underarmourwomen gear. .

My very ugly attempt at the cheese shell hot dog thang going around insta lately (I used waaaay too much cheese and cooked it a touch too long) — but, I’m a FAN!  Had it with scrambled eggs and some @alternasweets ketchup because I was STARVING and this was the quickest, easiest meal I could find in my barren refrigerator (gone all last week visiting my hubs and haven’t grocery shopped yet). #easyketo

This movement will help you develop over time the “V allusion” of broad shoulders and a tiny waist. 🔱

When I started implementing these into my training I personally saw a massive difference 💪.

SWIPE TO SEE MY FAVORITE EXERCISE FOR SIDE DELT GROWTH ➡️
. 👊Laying Cable Upright Rows👊
.

I lovelovelove these! I definitely prefer them over standing upright rows for the fact that there is no leg drive or assistance during the movement- really isolates those delt caps! ✅
. ➡️ For these I will do:
4 sets of 10-12
.

Last set I will drop set and lower the weight by 20 lbs. Once I fail I will drop the weight by another 20 lbs and go again. Repeat this process until there’s no weight left. You’ll definitely feel the burn. 🔥
. 💎 FORM: 
1. For these I grab the bar at a little more than a shoulder width grip. Shoulder width is fine as well but definitely do not have a close grip on these! That will target your traps instead of your side delts (we wanna train the delts here!)
2. Make sure when you lay down to roll your shoulders back for maximum contraction and isolation.

If you’re trying to lose fat and gain/maintain lean body mass (fancy for muscle) you’re going to play some sort of “low calorie, high protein” game (whether you do this intentionally or not)

My first tip with any of my clients is to START your day with ~30g of protein. It fills you up and knocks off a significant chunk of your protein requirement for the day. Best to get ahead of the game.

“But I don’t like eggs”

"But I don’t like yogurt”

“But I don’t like shakes”

Ok…gimmy a fuckin break lol so eat chicken. Beef, Salmon, Turkey, Tuna...Literally anything. It’s only because we’ve associated certain foods with “breakfast” that people say “eewwww” when considering chicken for breakfast.

I’m sure our hunter gatherer ancestors weren’t as picky

“Ewww mom antelope for breakfast? That’s like totalllllllllyyyyy a dinner food. Wtf”

The bottom line is being in a deficit increases your body’s need for protein (IF you care about maintaining your muscle).

I hadn't seen these locally in ages so when i saw them in b&m I grabbed 3 boxes because they're so good!😂 I haven't been following a diet recently but if been trying to minimise my snacking, control my portion sizes and trying to make healthier choices. I've had treats here and there and I don't regret it, I'm not the size I wish to be and maybe I never will be but as long as I'm happy I'm okay with that. I will keep working towards my goal it just may take me a while but that's ok! Live your best life ❤

Running isn't easy when your feet feel like they're made of concrete and your lungs are crying but I'm staying persistent and determined to finish this program. Determined to run 30 minutes straight.
