Sajjan Garh Palace
...aka Monsoon Palace
A towering marble beauty atop a hill facing lake Fategarh.
The palace offers a panoramic view of the city's lakes, palaces and surrounding countryside. It was built chiefly to watch the monsoon clouds; hence, popularly known as Monsoon Palace. It is said that the Maharana built it at the top of the hill to get a view of his ancestral home, Chittaurgarh. Previously owned by the Mewar royal family, it is now under the control of the Forest Department of the Government of Rajasthan and has recently been opened to the public.
While the sunset was all that and more, I found a quiet nook-window to soak in the golden hour while enthusiastic viewers faced away from the setting beauty to take a zillion selfies.
Somethings are just meant to be personally seen..
Thank you @justasajjangarh for arranging this today. The hotel is a stone's throw away from the palace and also has a bird's eye view from down below. My room faces this lit beauty by the way...
