When I refer to food volume, I use this comparison: 100g of Cucumber contains 10 calories, 100g of Chocolate contains 500+ calories ❌ The food have the same overall weight. However, you get MUCH more of the cucumber than you

March Madness is in full effect over here! It’s definitely an obsession for my fellas but that’s implied in the name, right?

So while my fellas (both the 8 yo and the 38 yo) hovered over brackets comparing win loss records, rankings, depth of benches + choosing re-choosing which teams will advance + erasing jokes in their papers, I made the simple + stress free decision to whip up my chicken soup!

Sweetpotato muffins 😋

Yes you heard it,SWEETPOTATO muffins! And it’s so amazing !

Recipe: 2 eggs, 1 small baked sweetpotato (200gr), 40 grams honey/maple syrup, 0,5 dl milk of choice, 0,5 dl oil, 200 grams flour (I used 100 gr oatflour and 100 gr all purpose flour), 1 tsp bakingpowder, 1 tsp bakingsoda, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt, 50 grams dark chocolate .

Cut the sweetpotato in 4 pieces, wrap it in aluminum foil and bake it at 190°C for about 45 min. Cool it down and mash it.
Whip the eggs, add all the wet ingredients including the sweetpotato. Add the dry ingredients. If you want, you can add chocolate chunks in the dough. I only added chocolate chunks at the top of each muffin. The recipe makes 12 muffins. Bake at 180°C for about 18-20 minutes

Pain relief
Turmeric is thought of as a pain reliever. The spice is reputed to relieve arthritis pain as well.
Studies seem to support turmeric for pain relief, with one study noting that it seemed to work as well as ibuprofen (Advil) in people with arthritis in their knees.
Though dosing recommendations seem to vary, those who participated in the study took 800 mg of turmeric in capsule form each day.

Improving liver function
Turmeric has been getting attention recently because of its antioxidant abilities.
The antioxidant effect of turmeric appears to be so powerful that it may stop your liver from being damaged by toxins. ☀️Tak dneska to chtělo pořádný kousek masa 🥩 Mohli jste vidět ve storíčkách, že jsem ho pekla na mřížce už včera. Byl to asi 3 cm vysoký velký plátek hovězího zadního, do kterého jsem udělala pár zářezů, vycpala cibulí a česnekem a celé posypala směsí koření fenykl, nové koření, paprika, pepř a sůl, které jsem natloukla v hmoždířku. Pečeno na 180 stupňů půl hodiny na mřížce. Jako přílohu jsem dneska udělala hranolky z kedlubny. This week has been tough. I’ve been tired, stressed, emotional... and did I say tired?

It’s been a struggle to keep the promises to myself. It’s been even tougher to stay on track and NOT binge on pasta and chocolate cake!

But I chose this path for a reason! I want to create positive change for myself, for my family and for others. I want to share my story, struggles and successes so that the world can get inspired.

Today I got up late and I had little desire to do my workout or go to work. BUT I pushed play! I did it for me, because I am worth it. Because I deserve to be the best version of myself and to live the best life I can!

And guess what... so do you! You deserve the best and you will never know your best unless you try and push yourself past your limits!

I love egg scrambles but who has time to slice and dice? This is a one minute Just Crack an Egg found in the dairy section of most markets. All the peppers and onions and ham bits and cheese are in tiny packets and the egg cooks in the container provided for about a minute. What a great time saver.

I keep fresh berries on hand for snacks, and quick breakfast additions.

Remember eating a healthy breakfast can be done effortlessly.

🌸1 çay kaşığı Zerdeçal(opsiyonel)
🌸1 yumurta beyazı(üzeri için)

YAPILIŞI:

Öncelikle süt karışımını hazırlayın. Ilık süt,pekmez ve kuru mayayı karıştırıp 5 dakika dinlenmeye bırakın. Hamur için tam buğday unu ve tuzu karıştırıp süt karışımını ekleyin. Biraz yoğurduktan sonra  zeytinyağını,tohumları,yulaf ezmesini ve zerdeçalı ekleyip tekrar yoğurun. Hamurun mayalanması için üzerini kapatıp 30 dakika dinlenmeye bırakın. Daha sonra 9 parçaya bölüp (ya da kaç isterseniz), şekil verip yağlı kağıt serili tepsiye dizin. Üzerine ilk önce pekmez ve yumurta akı karışımını daha sonra tohumları ekleyerek süsleyin. Önceden ısıttığınız fırında 180 derecede 20 dakika pişirin. Afiyet olsun🌸

homemade Raw Cookie Dough Protein bars, with a crumbly crust and a soft filling. I’d be lying if I said these weren’t inhaled in much less time than I would have planned for, hence only a couple left, BUT, when is that not the case with something so addicting. I used a handful of ingredients, a food processor and the freezer for these Plant Based babes. recipe below, have a happy happy Thursday! #nourishedbypri

raw cookie dough protein bars:
(makes about 8)
• crust:
1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup pumpkin seed powder (or almond flour) 
2 softened dates or dried figs
2 tsp pure maple syrup 
Blend until crumbly yet sticky. Press the crust into the bottom of a bread pan, creating about 1/4 inch layer. freeze for 5 minutes to keep it a bit sticky but hardened.

• protein filling:
1 scoop plant based protein powder of choice
(any will work)
(I like @toneitupnutrition Chocolate, @nuzest_usa or @sproutliving lucuma protein)
1/3 cup creamy almond butter
1/3 cup almond milk
2 tbsp extra dark chocolate chips
(I used @paschachocolate 100% cacao)
1 tsp ashwaghanda (entirely optional)
1 tsp camu camu (entirely optional)
blend in a food processor or blender until thick and creamy. transfer to a bowl, stir in chocolate chips. spread over crust and freeze for 15-20 minutes. these can stay in the freezer or in the fridge. Enjoy!

Part of me is wants to believe it’s spring and the other part of me thinks it’s still winter... such a long dreary season and my body is more than JOYFUL to be headed into spring! It seems like just yesterday, yet it also feels like a lifetime ago. We have been through the lowest lows and the highest highs, but one thing has remained constant; our persistence. We agreed that we would push forward, no matter what, because we are capable, we are passionate about our mission, and we are determined.

Fast forward to today, we have accomplished so much. We've built nuanced processes. We have made thousands of meals, refining recipes as we go. We raised $25,000 through our Kickstarter campaign, thanks to our amazing friends, family and community. We have met amazing entrepreneurs and fellow food business owners that we collaborate with and support. Also, today, we are catering a luncheon for 140 people!

But we are nowhere near finished. This is just the beginning. Let's do this!

This photo was taken in late 2016, at the first kitchen we ever worked in together as the "mademeals" team. It was over an hour drive away, (with no traffic). We worked the night shift because it was all that was available. We would get home at 3-4am, tired, physically beat... But it was awesome.

So I’ve been making these power bowls lately and I thought I would share because they’re delicious! It’s been a really easy way for me to get my vitamins each day. Especially if I didn’t pack the most healthy lunch. 🥒🍅🥬 My power bowls consist of quinoa, beets, sautéed beet tops, raw spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes and feta cheese. The quinoa helps to keep you full, so if you aren’t a big quinoa fan you can substitute with farrow. I chose to make mine sort of similar to a Greek salad, but you can add whatever you want to your bowl!

In the morning I add a bit of homemade dressing (olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, ACV) and when I’m ready to eat my bowl I pop it in the microwave for about 20 seconds just to warm up the quinoa and beets. It makes for a super healthy pre-lunch snack at work ✨
