Strength & Flexibility - Core Sculpt & Tone Flow
At the weekend taught my last Strength & Flexibility beginners level class at @energie_fitness_enfield. A special thank you 🙏 to all of the gym members who have attended over the last two months.
It has been quite a learning experience and you were all a delight to teach 😄 .
So today's post is about a new sequence I incorporated into the class - showing a little love to the sides of the body incorporating a modified side plank for beginners
Core sculpt and tone flow
🌞 Thunderbolt pose (Vajrasana pose)
🌞 Gate pose - 3 breaths to each side (Parighasana pose)
🌞 Modified Side Plank with Thread The Needle variation x4 (Ardha Vasisthasana Parsva Balasana variation)
🌞 Mermaid Side Stretch - 2 breaths
Repeat Modified Side Plank.. and Mermaid Stretch on the other side. ❗️ Knee and back issues be careful
🅰 Can fold the mat or place a flat cushion under the bent knee
🅰 Can be in a seated position with legs extended (Staff pose) leaning to one side being supported by hand on the ground
✔️ Opens up the sides of the body
✔️ Strengthens the core
✔️ Tones the abs and oblique muscles
✔️ Increases spine mobility
✔️ Boosts concentration

Been at work since 6.30, rode my bike there and back too. I'm tired and I'm also i'm very pale without my fake tan on😂😂. But a personal trainer at the gym commented that I'd lost weight especially on my face which made me feel better cause I always feel like my face never gets any thinner 😂 Few night time crunches, a hot bath and a chilled out night ahead!
Easter holidays can kiss my ass. Lost count of the amount of times I’ve lost my shit today. It hit 4pm & I just stopped talking to anyone in my house. I got to the gym 30 minutes early was my eagerness to get away. Then BOOM!
I did a spin class & my bad mood is pretty much gone. My ass hurts, my legs hurt, and I STILL CANT DO THE STANDY UPPY BIT ON THE BASTARD BIKE but my chunky thighs never stopped pedalling 🚲

Here is a voice over to talk you through the do's and don'ts of a KB Swing! When done correctly they are great for glute, hamstring and core strength and explosive power! ..
Video 1: Single Swing with reset to show how to start and finish a set of kettle bell swings. Imagine a triangle on the floor between your two feet and the kettlebell. Hinge hips back and reach out for the kettle bell. Keep your back flat and shoulder blades retracted. Big deep breathe in to brace then pull the KB to your upper thighs, and drive your hips into extension to drive that KB up. short sharp exhale at the top for breathing in to brace for each swing. Keep head in line with spine and spine neutral throughout.
Video 2: NEVER pick the KB up and simply start squating and lifting. NEVER swing with a rounded back allowing the KB to simply swing in mid air between your legs. NEVER overly extend your knees at the top and NEVER put the KB back down between your feet with a rounded back 🙈
