As a busy full time mum running my own business from home, it’s important for me to workout, but it has to be effective and speedy! HIIT workouts tick all the boxes for me. Tabata is one of my favourite forms of HIIT. This is how I train these days, and I love it. 
Today’s workout is a Tabata workout. 4 exercises, 20 secs for each done twice through = 4 minutes. Do just one round or for more fat burning benefits, do 2-3 rounds total with a 3-4 min rest between.

Answer to this is to simply invest in a skipping rope and start skipping on a regular basis. Jump rope exercise should never be overlooked even though it is an old-fashioned exercise. If you burn more fat during a workout you will burn more carbohydrates for the rest of the day and vice versa.  This is not a knock on fasted cardio as I enjoy doing it myself simply because I couldn’t imagine doing sprints after a bacon egg and cheese.

The key to fat loss, and I apologize in advance for the boring answer, is being in a caloric deficit.  It’s best to think of carbs and fats as interchangeable due to what I explained above.  The insulin/fat loss theory has been debunked many times over.

Have you ever seen those charts on the treadmill that say “fat burning heart rate zone?” It’s the same concept.  You may be burning more fat during the workout itself but for the rest of the day you’ll be utilizing carbs for energy.

So today’s workout wasn’t too bad, 
5 sets of 
300 m row (sprint) 
And 6 burpees. 
I’m already pretty tired in the videos because it was my third round. But overall a good workout and then some abs workouts at the end that I wasn’t able to get videos of. I’ve noticed such a different in my performance, I used to not be able to do four burpees and now I’m pushing out six burpees 5 times without too much struggle. 😊 .

That face when you’ve just complete the required 4 sessions out of 6 days in a row of all out mayhem at @orangetheory_stleonards AND you have just hit a milestone of 100 sessions there. What a journey it has been. The workouts are a killer, but the challenges inspire you to be more than you ever thought possible. The trainers and staff are all levels of extra. They not only take care of you but they’re passionate about transforming lives through fitness. @fasterwaytofatloss Low carb day 2 and sprints are done for today! I had baked chicken tenderloin, tomatoes, and avocado drizzled with Goddess dressing wrapped up in a low carb/high fiber tortilla.  It was so good I had the same for dinner, minus the tortilla and with @goodfoods avocado mash.  I also had @publix bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. Yum!

🔥 CORE STRENGTHENING HIIT 🔥

Here is an amazing workout which I did after today’s upper body weights session! ✅

I love to do a HIIT workout after weight training to get my heart rate up and sweat leading to a nice warm body for my stretches 💦 ❗️20 minutes in total / 4 rounds❗️
40 seconds on 20 seconds off ✨ Frog tuck jumps ✨ Weighted press ups into side plank alternating sides (I used 4kg)
✨ Wide leg in and outs ✨ Exercise ball inverted v-ups
✨ Straight leg weighted Russian twists (I used 6kg med ball) 🚨Tips🚨
~ In your plank , ensure to keep your shoulders inline with your wrists ~ Keep your head in line (don’t drop your neck) ~ Don’t drop your lower back or raise your pelvis, think of an ironing board ~ Engage your core continuously , as you get tired your body will start compromising in other areas getting lazy in your form , if this begins to happen you can take your reps slower , doing less in the time but correctly. 
I did create this workout myself , I like to mix exercises which raise my heart rate because of the cardiovascular effort (like tuck jumps) and exercises which raise my heart rate because of the strengthening effort (like weighted press-ups) ‼️ HIIT has been my greatest support during my fitness journey as you can do it anywhere anytime and is AMAZING for fat burning ‼️ Please save this video, give it a go and let me know your thoughts !

I did create this workout myself , I like to mix exercises which raise my heart rate because of the cardiovascular effort (like tuck jumps) and exercises which raise my heart rate because of the strengthening effort (like weighted press-ups) ‼️ HIIT has been my greatest support during my fitness journey as you can do it anywhere anytime and is AMAZING for fat burning ‼️ Please save this video, give it a go and let me know your thoughts !
