During my training session today I received a message from a friend of mine and it honestly was moving. It gave me another perspective in life and really motivated/inspired me. To be able to have that much impact on someone is incredible and humbling.

In my younger years, I’ve had more “I don’t want to be like that person,” than “that’s the person I want to be like.” But the few people who truly inspired and made me feel like “that’s the person I want to be like” were the coaches and mentors that I had at the time. People who made you feel like you can be somebody and gives you GOOD energy. Those vibes and energy can drive you to succeed and direct you to where you need to be. That carried onto today with my current coaches and mentors (shoutout to @tnttank) .

I look up to people like Eric Thomas, Garyvee, and Les Brown. Those are the type of people who spreads that kind of message. If you can really take in what they say, you can see the world a bit differently. And like the message they spread, you can be somebody, as long as you keeping working and striving to be better.

... Almost exactly 6 months ago, the Staten Island half marathon. With marathon #2 just 6 days away it can be fun to look back on some past race highlights. Even during a race when things start getting really tough I will draw from past experiences to help me push through, like the last 4 miles of the Staten Island half. Overall this was just a really smartly run race, with a massive negative split and a 7:45/mile average over the last 4 miles. At this point in time 6 months ago I finished with nothing left to give. I laid it all out on the course and was really happy to feel so good giving it my all that day. •

Fast forward 6 months to today and I like to think fitness has changed and improved drastically. Will it be enough to complete 26.2 averaging 8:12/mile and get that Boston Qualifier!? 🤞🏼
I’ve got Boston 2020 dreams that’s for sure! 💙🦄💛 .

A much needed run tonight with just me and my thoughts. 
There are so many benefits of running (or in exercise in general) but one of my favorites is the emotional well being that it gives me. Some of these solo runs are spent meditating and talking to my Father in Heaven. And He speaks back to my mind and my heart and sends me comfort, direction and these beautiful, peaceful views. 
April is a weird month for me. Both of my grandmas died in April, one on the 16th 8 years ago, and one today 2 years ago. And I spend the week in between searching for peace and comfort and tonight I got that on this run.

A much needed run tonight with just me and my thoughts.
There are so many benefits of running (or in exercise in general) but one of my favorites is the emotional well being that it gives me. Some of these solo runs are spent meditating and talking to my Father in Heaven. And He speaks back to my mind and my heart and sends me comfort, direction and these beautiful, peaceful views.

Marathon number.3, marathon finish number 2. @thequeensmarathon : was so not supposed to go this far, my plan was to stop at or before mile 16. But I was loving it so much that I decided to keep going taking it super easy. Always kept this huge smile on my face, as not for one second I had pain anywhere in my muscles and bones (abdominal pain... definitely there), and had so much fun taking it easy without any expectation (not even the one to finish!!!) 😲 
Had terrible bathroom 🚽 issues (as usual after my #endometriosis flare up) and had to lock myself in the potty twice, for a total of about 12 minutes. 😑. Super happy as this was unplanned, not trained for (if anything I am training for BK half) and after a week very low in mileage and very high in abdominal pain. Still is a PR because it’s only my second marathon, and I happy to know I can do soooo much better in the fall in Chicago!!! 😁 
Allllllll the feels came in those 26.2 miles, and will write more about them as soon as I get more race pics!!! For now a huuuuuge thank you to the best team ever @queensdistance and our cap @the8amazin8kevin , co-founders @mwmaria and @algorhythm19 , each and every single of the friends/volunteers who made this the best race I have ever run in terms of organization, AID STATIONS (@genucan everyone??? A life changer at the aid stations) and volunteer cheer/support, I wish I could thank you one by one!!! My friend @yolizulu , who singlehandedly convinced me the days leading up to this that I could finish it comfortably, even if I hadn’t trained for it. 😝 And of course the best guy ever @retr0bodega who showed up to cheer, ended up volunteering all day 😘

If you didn’t follow my stories last week, I decided to go on a last min trip to Europe By myself for the first time ever! Just a Back Pack with 7 shirts, underwear’s and pairs of socks, a Durag, tooth brush and a charger... That’s it. I had no plan either for what to do or where to go.⁣
I left by myself when usually Any travel includes my family or friends - This Was SCARY for me. 😲 ⁣

Travel scares me hence why I never do it. I’m comfortable living in my bed room away from the world, So to get out of my comfort zone we went to Italy! The whole trip was from Edmonton to Montreal then Turkey ( that was stressful... ) then Rome ! 🇮🇹 ⁣

Then spent my days going through the Amalfi Coast 🏝 , tried to see Capri but all the boats left early in the morning and I’d always arrive in the afternoon. Once I was in my way back, I went from Rome to New York, stayed a night in Jamaica ,NY then off to Minneapolis then Home!⁣

This trip was a breath of fresh air for my Brain! Getting out of routine and just seeing new things really opened my mind up to travel and NEW IDEAS ! Yep it let the creative juices flowww so now that I’m back I’m more motivated than I have ever been and I’m excited to get back to work!⁣
Running Towards my Fears is The Vibe For the rest of 2019 - Nothing but good things come out of me getting out of my comfort zone, so now I welcome my Fears with Open Arms 🤗 ...

- 90 gr. pollo asado
- 1/2 taza de pasta cocida
- 1 taza de lechuga picada
- 1 cda. de arándanos rojos  deshidratados
- 1/5 manzana fileteada - 1/4 jitomate
- 1 cda de queso parmesano *Mezclar en un bowl, todos los ingredientes. ¡Listo para disfrutar!

I ate cod for dinner, guys... And I survived. I forgot to pull chicken out for myself, so I decided to eat some of the cod I had already thawed for Danny. I cooked it on the @traegergrills with some @sweetlousspices lemon pepper and cayenne. It didn’t taste fishy (thank God!!). I almost ate all 4.5oz... Not bad, but I still prefer chicken. Ok so here is the low down, you don’t need a lemon detox or a celery cleanse or any other product to “detox” yourself... you have a liver and kidneys which is your body’s gold standard detox!! Yes you will lose weight just drinking juice but it will very likely be short term and you risk messing around with you metabolism and missing out on super important micro and macro nutrients!!! So my advice if you went a bit hard on the eggs and bunnies is to resume a healthy intake with lots of fruit and veggies, lean and plant based proteins, whole grains and a dose of healthy fats in portion controlled amounts! Top it up with some movement... much better option than cleansing! 👍😎 #smarteating #haes

Recipe:
✓  1/4 cup, ground, Nuts, almonds ✓  1/4 cup, Dried Blueberries ✓  1⁄2 tsp, Tumeric (I originally added this to turn balls ‘yellow’ ...aka natural food coloring...but that didn’t work, but I left it in b/c it’s a GREAT anti-infllammatory) ✓  1 tsp, Vanilla extract ✓  1 tsp(s), Water - Municipal ✓  1 scoop UCAN Lemonade ✓  6 dates

Directions: *Put the Almonds in the food processor and ground them until fine *Then add the blueberries and dates, and ground them until really good doughy form occurs *Next add in turmeric (optional), vanilla extract, water and UCAN *Take an ice cream scoop and scoop into balls/bites....typically I get about 5 bites out of these ingredients *Refrigerate, ready to go in about an hour! *111 calories per UCAN energy bite/ball
