Do you feel guilty spending time resting and relaxing? I know I used to.
Not anymore, I’ve learned it’s caring for your body. Your body must have it to function properly. I’m not talking about 7-8 hours of sleep a night that are vital as well, relaxing during the awake hours is important for your overall health too. You need time to slow down and breathe, think, read, stretch, whatever it is that relaxes and refreshes your body. For me, that’s alone time. That’s how I recharge best. Today I’m caring for myself by church, doing a workout, extra STRETCHING time, and spending some time reading alone on our deck. While outside I tend to take some time and just close my eyes and breathe. It’s amazing just what a few minutes of doing that can do for me. I hope you can find time today to just sit somewhere and breathe. Focusing on nothing but that. Remember to unclench your jaws and keep all muscles relaxed while doing this.
