▪️ Something that is heavily overlooked when it comes to working out is your mental connection to the muscle you are focusing on. ⁣

▪️ There is a difference between picking up a weight and swinging it with brute strength or picking up a lighter weight and really focusing on the form and focusing on the physics and dynamics of the movement. ⁣

▪️ When I lift I picture the muscle fibers in my head and I put all of my mental energy into just envisioning the muscle contracting and relaxing/stretching. This will help you not only get a better a pump but it will help make sure that your mind and body are one which in my opinion is key for both muscle growth and injury prevention. ⁣

Working on your speed and explosiveness? Try these on your next leg day. 
1) Focus on keeping your leg stable until your knee forms a 90 degree angle. Squeeze your glutes and drive your foot to the ground back to starting position. 
2) The focus should be on driving through your entire foot and holding the lunge for a second on the box and lightly returning to the ground to starting position. 
20 reps per leg, 4 sets each

But now I look at half marathons like “eh 🤷🏼‍♀️ easy-ish”! You CAN do it if you put your mind to it! Training is everything 💪🏼 one foot in front of the other! 🤗 the running community is pretty friggin special ♥️

Strength is directly proportional to cross sectional muscle size. As it relates only to comparing you to yourself, the bigger the muscle the stronger it is. The bigger the muscle, the more calories you burn. The bigger the muscle, the safer your body is when you need it!

Back is getting that slight Christmas tree shape in the middle. I’ve always had a really strong back so it’s not a huge difference. Mainly just see it more tone. I’ve always struggled to get my arms bigger so I’ve been focusing more on biceps, chest, abdominal. Genetically, I have a strong back, thunder thighs, calves, and shoulders. So making up the rest. I wish I had the determination of some of you guys out there to actually give it 100%. If I had to be honest, I’d say I’m only giving about a 40% effort considering diet, days missed at the gym etc...
