Now before all the Intermittent Fasting (IF) crowd jump on their bandwagon let’s talk about what Breakfast actually is, and yeah you IF guys and girls eat breakfast. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Breakfast originated from the verb Break the fast and this is how I coach my clients to think about it. You’re breaking the fasting cycle by eating the first meal of the day. It doesn’t matter if the fasting cycle has been 8hrs or 16hrs, it is the same thing. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Personally I LOVE a big breakfast, like the one here. Full of colour, lots of veggies, some good fats and some protein. The thing is I can have this at 9am or 1pm. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The other thing before I get off of my soapbox. While I call this a “breakfast” it’s actually just some meat patties, sautéed veggies, mushrooms and a slice of toast that can be eaten anytime of the day. ⁣⁣
This is one of the biggest issues I see when it comes to commercial advertising around breakfast. We have been brainwashed to think that cereal is what we have to eat in the morning, but that is not the case. ⁣

Rutina de hoy ‼️ Esta semana entreno piernas, lunes, miércoles y viernes. Hoy focalicé en glúteos.
Realice calentamiento con banda elástica: hice #sentadillas, #patadadeglúteos y #monsterwalk.

Luego hice solo 3 ejercicios pero 5 series de cada uno. Con descanso de 1 min y medio/2.
▶️Patada de glúteos en polea 12 repeticiones ▶️Elevación de cadera 12 repeticiones.
▶️Pull Trough 12 repeticiones ▶️Finalice con 30 min caminata a velocidad 6.4 .

⚜️The second contrast method I am going to show you is also known as the French Contrast Method, which originates from the French sport scientist Gilles Cometti.
▫️
⚜️The French Contrast method is when load or velocity is changed during each rep of a set.
▫️
⚜️The reasons for this include targeting multiple different types of muscle fibers, as well as different neurological and physiological adaptations.
▫️
⚜️We are basically trying to have our cake and eat it too, shooting for the best of both worlds in all regards.
▫️
⚜️There are a couple of basic ways to do this.
▫️
⚜️𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩:
The first involves changing the load of the same exercise as the set progresses. Let’s use the bench press as an example. If your max bench press was 300 pounds, maybe you would work up to a heavy double at 280 pounds. Immediately after the second rep, you would drop down to 185 pounds and perform 3 more dynamic reps as fast as possible.

⚜️This gives you your max effort slow speed strength, but also allows for speed strength work in the same set.
▫️
⚜️𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙎𝙚𝙩:
How I typically program the French Contrast Method for clients is by using different types of movements that train the same muscle groups in the same set.

⚜️Let’s talk about the squat pattern. If I was to have a client perform squats with the French Contrast Method, a sample training session may look like this:

TL:DR - focus on getting the basics right first - adequate fibre, adequate protein, calorie deficit, eating less processed foods, drinking enough water, BEFORE even thinking about supplementing

The ‘fitness’ industry is really good at making cash. Like really good. Do you need supplements? Probably not. That’s why they’re called supplements. Does the fitness industry want you to think you need supplements? Absolutely 🤑🤑🤑

If you aren’t eating a balanced diet, with a focus* on unprocessed, nutrient dense foods, aren’t hitting your protein targets and (if your goal is fat loss) are not in a calorie deficit, then using supplements is going to do precisely shit all. .
.
If you’re in a calorie deficit, then you don’t need fat burners, if you’re eating adequate protein you don’t need protein shakes** or BCAAs. .
.
Preworkout, well... caffeine pills will do the same thing, and they’re probably cheaper. Some pre workouts contain creatine which is beneficial, but only if taken daily, and only if you’re actually pushing yourself hard during your workouts (ie, not scrolling and chatting 50% of your session, and actually choosing weights that are challenging)

* focus doesn’t mean ONLY - you can still have chocolate and pizza
** some people may struggle to hit protein targets in which case protein supplementation makes sense .

The ‘fitness’ industry is really good at making cash. Like really good. Do you need supplements? Probably not. That’s why they’re called supplements. Does the fitness industry want you to think you need supplements? Absolutely 🤑🤑🤑

If you aren’t eating a balanced diet, with a focus* on unprocessed, nutrient dense foods, aren’t hitting your protein targets and (if your goal is fat loss) are not in a calorie deficit, then using supplements is going to do precisely shit all. .

If you’re in a calorie deficit, then you don’t need fat burners, if you’re eating adequate protein you don’t need protein shakes** or BCAAs. .
.
Preworkout, well... caffeine pills will do the same thing, and they’re probably cheaper. Some pre workouts contain creatine which is beneficial, but only if taken daily, and only if you’re actually pushing yourself hard during your workouts (ie, not scrolling and chatting 50% of your session, and actually choosing weights that are challenging)

** some people may struggle to hit protein targets in which case protein supplementation makes sense .

||~ Thoughtful Thursday 🌻 —> I’ve been thinking... and you know. It kinda just works because it’s Thursday. Which goes with the word Thoughtful. So why not make a post about it right. 😂 —> I work in an environment where energy is a must. People ask me all the time. “How are you so awake, alive and happy all the time?” “How do you have so much energy all the time?” “Don’t you ever get tired?” ... oh boy yes... It’s bloody hard, exhausting and very taxing on the body at times, but to be honest... I love it. 💛 Being able to get a smile out of 50 plus people (all before the clock strikes 8:30am) Ummm winning! 🙌🏻 I couldn’t ask for a more uplifting workplace. PLUS #fakeittillyoumakeit that’s a real thing some days ahaha 🤣🤣 ~ 📸 taken by ME.
