I wrapped up my latest internship on Friday. While I’m glad I don’t have to set my alarm for 7:30 this morning, there’s a part of me that’ll miss it this summer. It’s a small team made up of some of the most brilliant, passionate, and downright cool women I’ve worked with so far. You could be bogged down with a million deadlines, but not a day goes by without cracking a smile or having a laugh.
I look up to them. A lot. Mostly because they live lives where they all seem so happy loving what they do and doing it exceptionally well. I want that someday; hell, I want it *now.* So I spent too many days wondering why I wasn’t on their level already, in more ways than one.
But I mean, that’s just it, right? If you and your mentors were on the same playing field, then how are you supposed to learn from them? It takes patience, something I need more of with others but mostly with myself. When you’ve been in college for 3 years, it’s easy to forget how minuscule that time is preparing for a career that could last a lifetime. In short, friendly reminder: You’re doing great sweetie ♥️
