If you train with maximal loads and you aren’t periodising your training you may suffer from neural fatigue. This is when you aren’t recovered and need a rest day! This can be easily avoided by real time periodisation. This is when you rate your recovery based off how you feel and decide how hard you’re going to train! This isn’t for people who take feeling bad as an excuse to not train. β€’

A good way to figure out if you need a day off is to pinch a plate before each session. On a day where you need recovery your grip strength will be obviously weak! This is an indication to do active recovery or take it offπŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ

I had heard many people saying to me, there will be muscle loss happening due to running. However, I never felt so with me and my clients. Running can build muscle.
Running is a excellent Excercise to burn fats and calories. It has to be backed up with Good Nutritious Food... I along with my fitness batch members run 5 kms thrice in the week and 10 - 12 kms on Sunday. Along with it I also concentrate on Strength, Flexibility and Mobility Excercises. We also do functional and circuit trainings. This has helped all of us in increasing muscles in the body and lose fats from weight. Stamina and performance does increase. This all workout is backed up with good amount of Nutrition and proper meal plan which directly benefits the body. 
I've been Following the rule of 80-20%. 80% nutrition & 20% Exercise. What you eat reflects on your body. If you thing you can eat anything and burn out by doing Excercise, it's not possible. Because, the calories going into the body matters a lot. You should eat to develop the muscles in the body and workout will tone those muscles making you look more toned and muscular.
