While repping out an exercise, (slow it down) you'll start to feel "the burn", this burn is an increase in hydrogen ions and that makes your muscles fatigued and they will slowly stop contracting as hard and fast.  When this starts happening it is vital that you grind out a couple more reps (as long as form is flawless). Pushing out those reps at the end is exactly what releases lipase, which is an enzyme that promotes fat breakdown.  Also, those last few brutal reps will promote certain hormones to be released, like Testosterone and Growth Hormone that will aid in increasing lean body mass, fat burning and recovery (while you sleep). This is why sleep is so important if you're lifting weights often. 
It really comes down to the small additional push that you give yourself each and every set that will make a huge improvement over time.... here's a few tips to keep in mind when training: 
1. Forget Reps 
2. Use Heavier Weights (after form is perfect) 
3. Grind Reps out at the end of each Set 
4. SLEEP 
5. Eat for Fuel 
6. Repeat .

Pull-ups are in my opinion one of the top exercises for really growing the back! They are great for progressive overload. They can be done with several grips, but the main key 🔑 is to go slow and controlled allowing the lats to keep the stress on them the entire time and to also squeeze them at the top! •
1). Classic standard grip pull-up: amazing for targeting the lats. Also involves the biceps. This is one of the king compound movements that should be in everyone’s back routine for explosive growth. 
2). Neutral grip pull up- great for targeting the lats at a different angle. Also great to incorporate because most people can do more reps so adding these toward the end to really burn out the lats is a great move.
3). Chin-ups: involve more bicep than the previous variations but still great for back involvement at a different angle. Bonus tip: I add these as a bicep compound movement to maximize bicep growth! 💪🏻

This Marine has no idea , and he seemed to answer them all . 6 heart attacks , stomach cancer , a failing heart and kidneys. Just got engaged , beyond impressed . He told me , you can’t get me to quit , the good Lord has me here for a reason . He said he’s here because he wants friends , that brotherhood back, and that is just what we will give this Marine . For all those who want to make #gainz, you can train all you want, but if your nutrition isn't on par, you can throw your potential gains goodbye. It's quite simple to be honest. You need to train smart with the appropriate intensity and volume, but you also need to be eating the right foods. Wholesome, nutrient-dense foods in high variety and volume are what you need to fuel your body to build that solid, dense, lean muscle you want. While everyone is gung ho on protein, how much protein and what dosage of protein to have every meal, another variable to consider is carbs which are ironically the most feared of the macros. Carbs not only contain numerous nutrients, but also allow our body to build muscle and puts us in an anabolic state. Indirectly, your able to workout at higher intensities which means more stimulus for adaptation/growth which means more potential for muscle growth. They also are protein sparring and fill out your muscles more as glycogen stores and, thus, not only do your muscles appear filled out, but actually are full of potential energy which again goes back to training harder. My favourite sources are potatoes (white and sweet), quinoa (also a complete protein source with a generous amount of protein per serving), oats (also high in protein and fiber), rice (wild is generally the best), pasta (I like chickpea pasta personally because of the fiber and protein content), and fruit (extremely high in micronutrients). No processed junk carbs here. Only finest nature has to offer for your body.

A LOT of them lol). YeThere was no calorie cut or nothing, just healthier food choices (Whole Foods). Haven’t lost any weight but body fat has dropped. Moral of the story, eat what fuels your body right. Sure, enjoy life from time to time by rewarding yourself.. but don’t let the reward become your lifestyle.

Been cleaning up my eating habits the past 2 months for the sake of feeling better and because truth be told, i felt like i was starting to crave stuff i shouldn’t be eating (really it’s just chips.. A LOT of them lol). YeThere was no calorie cut or nothing, just healthier food choices (Whole Foods). Haven’t lost any weight but body fat has dropped. BAD DAYS!

Sometimes ONE bad day makes us feel bad at EVERYTHING. Yesterday I cried at work, just because I was tired and didn't feel like talking to people.. what made it worse was that I felt guilty about the way I felt and the fact that I COULDN'T for the life of me snap out of it. Despite all the previous days when I've put in my best efforts, one bad day can make me feel tiny next to my goals as well as give a good dosage of self doubt. Some weeks you can have 5 bad days.. or 7! It's life and it happens!

The worst part about having a "bad day" is feeling this guilty sense that you're supposed to be POSITIVE and there must be something wrong with your attitude or you're weak because you can't just switch over to the "positive" happy self like we are expected to, 
Trying to suppress your feelings when your down (because there is such a HUGE emphasize on having to be positive ALL THE TIME) is only going to make you feel worse for the most part, Its super important to let yourself FEEL and just be.

When you are having a bad day,make sure  that you take a step back and go with what you feel. Yesterday I had my day all planned.. I was convinced by the time I finished my shift I would get my training done and carry on ... that's when I broke. I ended up home to nap and felt shitty about it because in my mind I was failing. After my nap I forced through my day, taught my class (which I was dreading, shouting motivational things was not something I felt like doing at the time)  which helped my snap out of it,and then had a fresh mind to actually get my workout done and enjoy it!

I  wanted to share this as yesterday I wished I read something similar, feeling down can make you feel so alone and the reality is that we all have bad days even if you're convinced everyone else is healthy and happy but you!

I used to hate lifting any weights. I felt that I could burn more doing cardio. BUT I have learnt that yes cardio is great for burning calories, building muscle is the way to raising your metabolism permanently along with burning more calories throughout the day vs. just during your workout!

Pssst. The more muscle you have, the more calories you'll be burning 24/7! So, get those weights out & start lifting! 💪🏼

Auch möchte ich jedem damit zeigen, dass man auch mit einer wirklich schlechten sogar schrecklichen Genetik (die ich wirklich habe) viel erreichen kann, dass wenn man etwas will es auch erreichen kann.
