I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! 
I took a rest day yesterday. Normally I am HORRIBLE at rest days. Even on my rest day I try to get in a run or something like that .. but not yesterday. My body felt like it was craving rest! I stayed in bed and didn’t feel one ounce of guilt for it lol and I picked it right back up this morning and am back on the grind! It’s so important to listen to your body. I really really needed it, I felt tired the whole day even though I was resting. I probably should have taken off today as well but maybe next time we will see how I do with two consecutive rest days.

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!
I took a rest day yesterday. Normally I am HORRIBLE at rest days. Even on my rest day I try to get in a run or something like that .. but not yesterday. My body felt like it was craving rest! "💪🏻The past couple of days I have trained at completely different times and felt pretty different. Not sure how much of that is in my head or actually science related, but here are some pros for both morning and night training.

🌤Typically in the am your testosterone levels are peaking. Could be an awesome time for a super efficient workout. It could actually help raise your metabolism for the day and burn more calories. Get your gainzzz, get out, and have a great day.

🌙Night time training has been shown to help strength gains. If you’re a night owl and like an empty gym, hit it up at night. Just be careful of your pre-workout intake that late. Could keep your ass up for a while.

😎To be honest, it doesn’t matter one bit what time of day you train. Put your fricken music on loud, focus, and go be aggressive. Chose what works best for you, not what a little bit of research may say. At the end of the day you need to do work and push weight." Hope this helps!

YES, you NEED to arch, and I don’t care whether you’re against this statement or not, because if you are.. chances are you’re mistaking the “right way" to arch, with the “wrong one”. ⁣⁣

Implementing an Upper Back Arch (Thoracic Extension) when bench pressing ensures 3 very important things, as you can see from the drawings: ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1) 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘: By locking your shoulderblades back together and holding them there for the whole movement, you’re preventing yourself from getting injured in the shoulders/tendons areas because the arch allows the shoulders not to internally rotate during the execution of the movement. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2) 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘: Arching your upper back creates a strong “base” or muscle shelf where you can rest on, pushing your muscles against the pad. Glutes stay GLUED to the bench, and so do your feet. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇: this is simply the strongest way to bench press. If you don't get injured you're also more likey to continue to perform the exercise for more time. This means getting stronger and being able to lift more weight too, obviously. By doing it correctly, you’re also able to load the exercise very heavy, therefore finally allowing yourself to build a strong and aesthetic chest.⁣

Nearly every fella wants to be jacked and enjoy the spoils of being so, but there's so much confusion and noise we're bombarded with every damn day that it makes it difficult to know how to get there.

You think it's hard, that you have to dedicate your life to it, but you don't.

It comes down to a few simple things.

Use compound lifts and push yourself to get a little bit stronger each workout.

Eat whole foods that agree with you...and fulfill your micro and macro needs. You can't go wrong with red meat, eggs, and potatoes.

The most important? Be fucking consistent. It takes time to get the results.

It's hard work, but it's as simple as simple Jack. (Cool points if you get the reference)

Stay consistent for the next year or two (you're not gonna put on 40 pounds of muscle in 4 weeks, don't fall for the marketing bs) and I promise you'll make a shitload of progress.

A friend of mine the other day was retelling a story of how her girlfriend was saying some “new” health stuff that @therock was saying...her reply, ”so we’re listening to what the rock has to say?” 😂

I get it...you see these success stories of people losing weight, getting buff, getting rid of histamine, pain, arthritis, cancer...and you figure you can maybe  do what they did and get the same results 🤷🏻‍♀️ WRONG! You don’t know if that person was seeing a certified practitioner along their journey, a doctor or a program! If that person is not qualified to give you advice, take it with a grain of salt.  You are not the same person!  Sure whole30, keto, Paleo, whatever will maybe get you off of chips and chocolate, which is a good thing- but it’s about changing your lifestyle, not just hopping on whatever is on the trend train. .
If you want help - see a professional. That’s self-care ❤️

Hit up a few machines before jumping into my weekly Pilates class today. 💪 Feeling so great after a much needed rest day yesterday that I couldn’t wait to get moving today. Rest days are harder and harder for me to take these days because I genuinely LOVE working out now but they are so necessary.‼️ My body was asking me for one yesterday and I listened...hard as it was I listened. 👂 Got a great workout in today and am feeling stronger and healthier than ever! 👊 Hope you all had a fantastic weekend and let’s crush this upcoming week! 😘 .
