Why do we celebrate Easter?
Today you’ll find many posts ranging from “He is Risen” to our adorable kids Easter egg hunting, but why the commotion?
Thousands of years ago God sent his only son to live on earth and defeat Satan (the mean guy, the one who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy). Little History: Satan is who deceived Eve & Adam by convincing them to eat from the tree ... THE ONLY TREE that God asked them not to eat from.
You see, our human nature was written centuries ago in this moment. The day we decided for free will. The knowledge to know and do right from wrong, and evil to kind.
But then God. He sent Jesus, who was tempted by Satan but knew his purity is what would bring us salvation. The person who cared for us so much (with you and me in mind) that He gave his life to overcome death and rise again.
But what does this mean for today’s culture? I see it as He overcomes my worries, fears, anxieties, and all of the interior or exterior blemishes that try to hold me back.
As mentioned earlier, Satan comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. When tragedies happen, when we’re fired from our job, when we get rejected & a negative Dr. report; Satan wants us down, discouraged...power- and hopeless.
But then God. Jesus came so that we may have NEW LIFE. So that we would see the closed door as redirection. So that we would become encouraged that we are one step closer to that promotion. So that our hearts do not grow weary through the pain but rather feel the depths yet remain hopeful in the days to come.
Sisters and brothers - life with Jesus isn’t easy. Sometimes it’s messy & doesn’t make sense. But it’s clear because there’s a plan for us. One to help people along the way, because that’s what we want to do anyway, right? Most careers we choose is because we’re passionate about a trade & want to help others, isn’t it? That’s what life is about. What and who Jesus is about. Relationship with God isn’t perfection. It’s restored hope, jumping in faith despite the fear, and overcoming obstacles you never thought you could. Jesus saved then & He saves today! ❤️🙌 #HeIsRisen #GodIsGood
