I have been having wrist pain on and off for the last 6 years. It eased a lot when I started yoga. Then it came back in a different form, I'd have pain inside my forearms.

@hypermobile.yogis have been explaining that in yoga we continuously do the pushing motions, which work the wrist flexors (they help you move your palm towards your forearm) and they strengthen, but we ignore the wrist extensors (they help you move your palm away from your forearm), so they stay underdeveloped next to a developed muscle group.

These two exercises are what I do to complement my yoga practice to train my wrist extensors. First one is a boring little exercise that I forgot the name of. It works the wrist extensors and biceps. While you can see how much I don't like it from my face, let me tell you that I don't skip it, because it does wonders to my overall wrist health. The second one is straight leg deadlifts with kettlebell, which I love so much because it works every underdeveloped muscle of mine, the hamstrings, a deep muscle around the spine, and with the wrist extensors when I use the kettlebell (thanks to the thick handle according to my trainer)

One last thing after I finish confessing my love of deadlifts: I forgot to take a video of my grip, but my trainer also suggested that I do a overhand grip with all my fingers, including the thumb on the same side. This is what activates the extensors, if I understood correctly.

Last note: Don't do that grip with bench presses, and you can seriously harm yourself.

Varning, nu blir det en lång rant om, ja, det fantastiska med träning! För idag blev jag så boostad av att ha instruktion på mitt Friskis.❤️ Hade uppföljning med en person som efter två månaders träning gjort helt otroliga framsteg - från att ha skadats och åldrats så att t o m ta sig upp i vissa maskiner var svårt, till minskad smärta och ökad funktion, som att kunna gå i trappor utan stöd och lyfta en arm trots delvis trasig. Jag blir helt lycklig av sånt! Hurra! Kort senare dök en assistent med en ung kille med funktionsvariation upp och de kastade medicinbollar, lek-tränade och skrattade. Inspirerande! Älskar att få vara del av en verksamhet som verkligen på riktigt är för alla. Dessutom kan somliga glömska få låna ett linne av bästa @bergqviist.e och kunna få ”träna som Erica”. .
👊🏼Så efter att mest ha lallat på utan plan i min egen träning i några veckor bestämde jag mig för att följa Guns&Gains från @styrkebyran ett tag - bör funka att varva med min rygg/bäcken-rehab. Mest för att en plan motiverar mig att ”få det gjort” och det behöver jag nu. Idag bestämde jag att planen även innehöll en tabata med 24-kiloswingar!😇 Fick tydligen ihop några ton ändå, även om chinsmotståndet är väldigt ungefär. (Ps. Ni andra som kör appen från @styrkelabbet - hur gör ni med assisterade kroppsviktsövningar??)

So recently I've started a new routine over the course of 5 days and I've got to say it's working for me brilliantly. I've allowed myself an extra rest day which does me the world of good. Below I'll share the EXACT routine I do to give you some ideas!

Recently I’ve taken the intention of controlling my emotions. I speak without thinking, I act without thinking, and let my mind take over most of the time. However, since I’ve become aware of my uncontrollable emotions so much has changed. I’ve noticed my relationships grow with old and new friends, I’ve been making better choices mentally and physically, and most importantly I see improvement in myself and my happiness. The process of developing yourself is a road that never stops. Always find something to make yourself better, not only for others but yourself💖

I don’t know where to begin reflecting back on this year. 2018 I begged for you to be good to me and you were. I have to be better. That's what I learned this year. This year taught me that I have to be better, do better, and say better. That it is not always everyone else’s fault, it’s mine. That life didn't make me this way and that my circumstances didn't mold me into what I am - I did and it’s okay! I realized so much about myself, my family, my significant other, my best friend, my entire life. I need to stop making excuses, and start making real commitments. I need to quit mistaking complacency for contentment in my life. Start building bridges, not burning them one by one. To bite my tongue more, and listen. Be loyal, to honor my values and to make something larger than the ‘right now.’ I stopped growing and loving myself, and for that I stagnated. I was angry at myself. I sold my artist integrity for things I never cared for, for the life I never cared for. I have to be better, this is the next new chapter. Cheers to finding a real purpose and to finding love for myself again! We can fucking do this ~ 2019! If you feel alone, you aren’t. If you don’t know what the next chapter holds, it’s okay I don’t either. Keep going.
