I’m a huge fan of spices. They add little energy to food while adding powerful health benefits. Spices have been used for their culinary and medicinal value for centuries, and so I don’t think we should stop!

I try to cook using mainly spices, very few sauces. Salt, pepper, and garlic goes a long way. I use them to make my veggies taste delicious and also add them to meat and fish.
.
Turmeric and mustard seed powder in particular can be added for their medicinal benefit. Turmeric helps reduce inflammation probably by supporting a healthy gut environment. It’s main anti-inflammatory component, curcumin, is actually not very bioavailable, but it may benefit gut bacteria thus having an indirect anti-inflammatory effect. Black pepper enhances its bioavailability, however, by up to 2000%. .
Mustard seed powder promotes the production of sulforaphane, another anti-inflammatory compound, in cooked cruciferous veggies. Add it to cooked broccoli or kale for a spicy  healthy kick!

One of my all time favorite Passover breakfast’s is my grandmother’s fruit salad. Mix together sliced banana, chopped apples and oranges, with a splash of orange juice, and add in the black seeds from a passion fruit. Yummm it will not disappoint. And of course some berries in the side for extra fiber!

So anyway,  for breakfast I got a grande iced almond milk latte with the egg white and fetta wrap. I give it a 8/10, it was really good if you want to try it out😋👌

Despite going out with family I managed to have a day without messing up my eating plan 🎉🎉 Yesterday I had a small packet of crisps but compensated with a protien and my fruit for nutritional value and calorie value. I recently moved out of state and I have not eaten well at all. Basically I ate whatever was nearby or could be delivered because moving with kids is really hard. Now that things have settled I’m hoping it will be better.

Moving has been crazy and stressful but it’s also a blessing.  I had a lot of support from friends and family and it’s really great when I  see them make conscious choices to eat vegan when they’re around me.  Every little bit helps in my opinion!

Teriyaki tofu with broccoli and forbidden rice - the healthiest dinner I’ve had in a few days. I seriously need more broccoli in my life.

Still experimenting with egg loaf or whatever you want to call it. I followed directions from @theketowriter the extra cooking time and less butter was perfect. Instead of the added sweetener I used cinnamon roll @skinnymixes which made a really delicious combination!

What it does mean is a progression, what it means is building a better relationship with food and your body, what it means is learning how food affects your body what it means is fueling your body to take care of it❤

You are not always going to have a salad and you are going to feel for that spicy thigh or that chocolate bar. Guess what? Have it!

This journey isn't a 1 SIZE fits all you are going to have to find your own way of doing things that work best for you. You have to try even when you fall off, that's how we learn what works and what doesn't for us.

Start with one healthy meal, start with a bottle of water instead of soda. Have a salad! Who knows you may enjoy. Then from there keep doing the things you like that's how the habit is formed that's how consistency happens💪
