I got my life back when I stopped trying to be “perfect”
My perfectionist, type A tendencies had me f*cking TRAPPED inside of diet culture (and I didn’t even know it)
🤦♀️ I’d say “no thanks” to the dessert tray as it came around, then devour a sleeve of Oreos in privacy.
🤦♀️ I’d pass on dinner, then drink my calories, because at least that made me numb my struggles and feel better for the moment.
🤦♀️ I’d be rigid, obsessive, and “on track” or fall completely off the deep end (until Monday).
🤦♀️ I’d go from one extreme to the next, feeling inadequate at both ends.
This was my pattern.
✨ Until I decided to do things differently....
💜 I decided to love my body instead of judge it.
💚 I decided to nourish my body instead of starve it.
💛 I decided to move my body because I was grateful for it, not as a way to punish it.
💙 I decided to live in the present instead of letting food control my thoughts.
❤️ And I decided to stop trying to figure it out on my own.
Dieting SUCKS. I know.
It can really screw you up, mentally and physically.
It creates this false perception that you must do everything perfectly right in order for it to “work”
... at least that’s how I felt 🤦♀️
