Muay Thai has given me a lot of things personally and physically in the last 6 weeks but this time with my children the fun we are having together is priceless ! Carbohydrates are important nutrients that supply energy in order for the body to perform everyday functions. Don't’ remove carbs from your diet, instead choose the right ones!

Simple carbs are commonly referred to as “simple sugars”. They are characterized by the body’s ability to quickly digest them and their ability to spike our glucose levels and then leaving us with a feeling of “crashing”. These carbs are typically highly processed and therefore stripped of their nutritional value. The only exception to these types of carbohydrates are fruits. Fruits are not processed and therefore are packed with vitamins and minerals.

Complex carbs take a while longer to digest, because of that, they supply the body with a steadier supply of glucose over a prolonged period of time. This means the body has time to absorb the beneficial and required nutrients for everyday function. These carbs are usually described as “whole” because they are not processed and contain all of their nutritional value.

This feels weird and self-absorbed but I literally can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror when I’m at the gym… It’s still crazy to think that this is MY body, I almost don’t recognize it, but it is so cool. 🤰🏽🤰🏽🤰🏽

Part of me was scared of pregnancy because I thought it meant I had to “let myself go” and just submit to the changes rather than maintaining the years of hard work I’ve put into feeling healthy and strong. But that’s not the case- it doesn’t have to be that way. I’ve worked just as hard (in different ways) throughout my entire pregnancy and it is seriously paying off. I still feel incredible. And honestly, this is actually my favorite body yet. I’m the most confident I’ve ever been and could not love my body and sweet baby girl bump any more. If it weren’t for just wanting to meet her so badly, I may even opt to keep this body. 💗💗💗

If you are healthy and have a healthy pregnancy (no extenuating medical circumstances), then you CAN maintain and even continue to make progress, and not even for the sake of “looking good” and “bouncing back” but more just for feeling good and supporting your changing body. Pregnant mommas have been active since the beginning of humans; our bodies crave the movement and will show us some love in return if given. 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

If it feels best to take a step back and cease activity, that’s ok too, just know that it doesn’t have to be that way! Pregnancy CAN be a time of feeling GOOD and STRONG!

This feels weird and self-absorbed but I literally can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror when I’m at the gym… It’s still crazy to think that this is MY body, I almost don’t recognize it, but it is so cool. 🤰🏽🤰🏽🤰🏽

Part of me was scared of pregnancy because I thought it meant I had to “let myself go” and just submit to the changes rather than maintaining the years of hard work I’ve put into feeling healthy and strong. But that’s not the case- it doesn’t have to be that way. I’ve worked just as hard (in different ways) throughout my entire pregnancy and it is seriously paying off. I still feel incredible. And honestly, this is actually my favorite body yet. I’m the most confident I’ve ever been and could not love my body and sweet baby girl bump any more. If it weren’t for just wanting to meet her so badly, I may even opt to keep this body. 💗💗💗

If you are healthy and have a healthy pregnancy (no extenuating medical circumstances), then you CAN maintain and even continue to make progress, and not even for the sake of “looking good” and “bouncing back” but more just for feeling good and supporting your changing body. Pregnant mommas have been active since the beginning of humans; our bodies crave the movement and will show us some love in return if given. 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

If it feels best to take a step back and cease activity, that’s ok too, just know that it doesn’t have to be that way! Pregnancy CAN be a time of feeling GOOD and STRONG!

I used to hate working out. I used to hate the feeling of being sore and sweaty. I used to think working out was a punishment for what I ate. I used to hate going to the gym and feeling clueless on what I should be doing. I just used to hate fitness all together. -

I used to think that fitness was all about physical appearance, and that alone just gave me a negative attitude all together. When I first started out, I strived to have the perfect beach body figure. I wanted the abs, the muscles, I wanted to be able to wear a crop top and feel confident, I just wanted to look good. After weeks of working out and thinking I wasn’t seeing results, all I wanted to do was give up. -

4 years later.. fitness ended up turning out to be me discovering what my body can do, and who I could become! It has taught me discipline. It has taught me how to push myself beyond my limits. It has taught me how to eat healthy and fuel my body with the proper nutrients it needs. It has showed me how to truly love my body and not let anyone else tell me differently. It has shown me how to live my life to its fullest potential. It has shown me that it’s more about what your body can do versus what it just looks like. -

The gym has become my saving grace. It has become a place I come to celebrate my body and all it’s capable of. It’s where I go when I’m stressed out and need to just let my mind relax. It has become my home away from home. It has given so many amazing friends and it has given me a whole new healthy lifestyle. -

So, just a friendly reminder that we A L L start somewhere! We all have different stories on why we started and what sparked our interest. We all go to the gym for different reasons, but we all are trying to better ourselves. Be kind and always support one another! 💕

So it’s been almost a month since my dad passed away and it’s certainly been a strange time. Although my dad lived with me, we weren’t close at all. We didn’t talk unless we really had to, which I know is hard to believe for a lot of people. Our relationship started to get bad around my junior high years and just got worse from there. Maybe if he didn’t live with me things would be different but that wasn’t the case. .

Some people thought that because we didn’t get along that his death wouldn’t affect me and to be honest, neither did I. I knew It wouldn’t affect me how other people would usually be affected when their father dies but knew it would in a different way. It’s definitely weird not seeing someone that you did everyday your whole life. It’s weird not smelling his smoke every hour and not complaining about it. It’s weird not hearing my parents fight. It’s weird not being on edge when you hear something and think, “do I need to call 911??”. It’s weird not hearing him drag his feet with his slippers as he walks down the hallway. It’s weird not feeling awkward every time I have to pass him in the hallway or kitchen. It’s weird not having to check the oven to make sure he turned it off. Anyways, you guys get the idea. I guess the best word to describe how I feel is “WEIRD” because these are things I’ve had to deal with most of my adult life. Luckily my kids had a different relationship with him and got along with him so well.

Now to the point of this post. So ever since that day I’ve been running around doing so much which then gives me anxiety, which then makes me feel like somethings wrong with my heart, which then makes think I’m dying. Yes, being a hypochondriac doesn’t help me at all but 🤷🏻‍♀️ i wasn’t sure what was going on with me but then realized that yes, his death has affected me more that I thought it would. So now I recognize it and now dealing with it my own way. I’ve also noticed that me not being as strict on my diet as I have been for the past few months really took a toll on my mind and body. So now, back on track!! .

grateful that I don’t actually have @kelseywells in person at the gym, I am a combo of drunken sailor and mamma giving birth - the amount of swearing is embarrassing and ridiculous, but I love her and this program.

#PWR 1.0 done... started 2.0 and did #pwrathome today, which felt amazing... things I have learned...
grateful that I don’t actually have @kelseywells in person at the gym, I am a combo of drunken sailor and mamma giving birth - the amount of swearing is embarrassing and ridiculous, but I love her and this program.
2.) if I want to see more results I have to stop eating chocolate... no seriously, it is my kryptonite.
