Stuffed Bell Peppers. 🥑1lb 99% lean ground turkey
🥑1lb 93%/7% ground turkey (yes it makes a difference)
🥑Sweet Bell Peppers. I cut some in in half and some I cut the top if they’re rounded off and deep enough. 🥑3 cloves Diced Garlic 🥑3 diced pieces of hearts of palm
🥑salt, pepper, Italian seasoning
🥑1 1/2 C Jasmine Rice, cooked. 🥑 1/2 C Panko crumbs gluten free
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Oil, cut open and remove seeds from bell peppers.
Brown the garlic, hearts of palm and seasonings in olive oil. 
Add the ground turkey and cook until brown. 
Let sit 10 minutes. 
Add the Panko and rice.
Fill Peppers. Bake for 25 minutes. •

Roasted chicken thighs (with Magic Mushroom Seasoning recipe by @nomnompaleo), roasted brussels with bacon, and roasted chayote squash. So easy, so healthy, so good❤️

This delicious looking smoothie recipe came from the amazing Madison Service, a Bastyr Dietetic Intern I worked with recently. Pumpkin Pie Turmeric Smoothie⠀
Prep time: 5 minutes⠀
Makes 1 serving	⠀

This spicy smoothie is chalk full of anti-inflammatory foods and is delicious at any time of the year. Packed with healthy fats from chia seeds, flax seeds, and walnuts, this omega-3 rich drink will keep you nourished and satisfied throughout the day. The sweetness from the banana is balanced by the turmeric and ginger, which pack a powerful amount of anti-inflammatory compounds into a single serving.  This smoothie is not only a treat, it is medicine. ⠀

Ingredients:⠀
½ Tbsp flaxseeds, ground⠀
½ cup pureed pumpkin⠀
½ banana, medium⠀
1/3 cup spinach⠀
2 Tbsp walnut pieces⠀

Salmon was a bit large to be honest but my fish guy didn’t listen to my instructions so who am I to argue?! 🤷🏽‍♀️ I don’t eat the skin but my husband loves it so I peel it off and give it to him... only once I’ve taken a pic obv cause it looks way nicer when it’s on 🤣 🐟 🐟 🐟 oh and I’m not ashamed to admit I have 5g of butter on my green beans and loadddds of black pepper! 😝

Inflammation in the body can cause lots of symptoms such as headaches, skin problems, stomach issues, brain fog, etc etc. The main foods that can cause inflammation are ones that include gluten, dairy, and sugar. But one major source of inflammation that we tend to overlook are some vegetable and seed oils that are high in omega SIXES. This can be confusing because omega THREES are great for ANTI inflammatory purposes but omega 6s have the opposite effect. As long as you’re aware of the differences and which ones to use and which ones to avoid, you’ll be good to go! Here’s a list of common oils to avoid and which ones to use:

I’ve made a commitment to start each day with this mantra.

The woman on the left was exhausted, suffering from auto immune ailments, life stresses, and the competitive work grind. Always rushing to the next task on her plate, just to make sure it all got done. .
The woman on the right decided she no longer wanted to suffer through her ailments and wanted to gain control of her life. She made a decision to slow down and listen to her body, her spirit and to lead through her tasks with heart.

14 months, work, lots of prayer and freedom separates these two women. The woman is the same but the mindset and gratitude set forth by each, are universes apart.

It all started with a commitment to changing my nutrition in January 2018. I then added workouts (my sanity) July 2018. I started using my trusty containers January 2019, a year later, as I was hoping to better fuel my body. It took two weeks to feel comfortable with my new portions.
.
I feel energized!!! Motivated!!! Loved!!! and above all Healthy. Mind. Body. Spirit. I can't wait to see what's to come. ❤️

Ode to the Fore Rib: this beauty is Hereford beef from a farm just up the road on Knowle Hill, which is literally 1 minute away.

Grass-fed and finished on maize - the latter is grown on the same farm as the cows are reared.
.
The Fore Rib is dry-aged, which helps both the flavour to develop and the meat to be tender.
.
We choose Fore Rib for our menu because of its high fat content - you can see the marbling in pic 1 - this melts when you’re cooking it and keeps the meat moist. The outer layer of fat we char over coals and we always serve it - it’s jam packed with flavour.
.
Were big fans of fat at the Pony. For us it’s a taste thing: fat means flavour. Of course, it does mean calories too; but if you’re coming to eat with us it’s likely that you’re coming for a special occasion so why not treat yourself!
.
Another point all together is the nutritional value .. we’re here to fight fats nutrition corner as we think it gets a bad wrap sometimes .. (fat in all forms, be it nut, seed, vegetable or meat based).

Take the Fore Rib - 40% saturated fat but actually the other 60% is heart-healthy mono and polyunsaturated fat - which help to reduce cholesterol and the risk of coronary artery disease and allows the body to absorb vitamins (amongst a host of other amazing things) #yougofat
