Increasingly, the rise of the vegan food industry is changing ways for more people. The main reasons why people opt to go plant-based are: animals, the planet and personal health.
According to Global Data, the no. of US consumers identifying as vegan grew from 1% to 6% between 2014 and 2017, a 600% increase. BeyondMeat's shares recently rallied 79% since IPO.
People are seeking realistic alternatives to meat as a way to diversify their diets or reduce their environmental footprints.
My message: have an open mind and analyse the market trends. What may seem right, may change in the future based on customer demands and new knowledge. Respect is key.
