I've been evolving this design for over a year now. It is the reason I first started using chalk. I've done nearly 100 of them between #Longview , #Chicago , #SanAntonio , and #Austin all of them #freehand . This one I'm pictured with is in Longview's newest park The Green and it is going to be protected and sealed so it'll never wash away thanks to Kim Casey of #KeepLongviewBeautiful
The reason I have been evolving this design over the past year and a half is to highlight patterns I've noticed in the structure of our alphabet and try to make them accessible to others.
We're all used to seeing the alphabet linearly with A & Z as far away from one another as possible. With this setup most people are not that familiar with the alphabet outside of song form, they don't know the 18th letter of the alphabet, or what comes after R, or that the alphabet we use is the most symmetrically ordered alphabet on the planet. If you know the alphabet around a circle then you would be able to say it backwards and forwards simultaneously starting anywhere. The points, A & Z, that were once furthest away now become neighbors...the letter that looks like a Z rotated is now the furthest from A.
Notice the placement of the vowels pointed out by the guys head&limbs and how they divide the consonants into groups of 3 & 5. Next notice the 3 letters shaped like the number 3...E at the top then the 13th(M) and 23rd(W) letters...5,13,23 happen to be the 3rd6th&9th prime numbers.
Symmetric Spatial dimensions
0D - NV (Victory & Nadir)
1D - PQ & ST Psychological World duality vs duality
2D - BCD (CyanMagentaYellow) & FGH (RedGreenBlue) light/color
3D - WXYZ (electric 3D world lightning bolt shaped Z) & JKLM (Magnetic 3D world hooking J ahape)
Last part might be unclear...main point...the 5 vowels & three letters shaped like a three are symmetrically placed.
A line has only 1 dimension...unless it bends so far it brings the end to the beginning. In a line the alphabet order seems arbitrary & unspecial certain letters even feel kinda useless...in a circle though they take a form greater than the sum of their parts. All the symmetry would evaporate with the expulsion of the less popular.
