Ollie Dog 2004-5/20/2019
His old body could not keep up with his youthful spirit.
I have thousands of photos of Ollie (literally) but this one sums up his personality in a nutshell. We asked him to fetch one of the many sticks on the ground... so he spent 5 minutes ripping a three-foot limb off a tree and brought it to Phil to throw for him.
He was athletic, smart, funny and loved to get our attention by bringing us things - hats, gloves, Christmas lights, hammers, blush brushes, pillows, plants from my garden... so we would stop working or watching tv and give him full attention.
Such a handful, he literally ran the pads off his paws twice in his life, could catch anything (snow, water), ran like the wind, growled if you tried to take any space from him on the bed, spent half his life tangled in cords under my desk on my feet and the other half doing whatever he damned well pleased.
I think many dogs existences revolve around their people, but Ollie was always the star of the show. We were just lucky enough to be a part of it.
