We made the front page!! What a great surprise, we had the photographer come but we didn't know when it would be published or that we would be on the cover 😀😃😮
'Sophie H, 14, recently put her skills to use when an older teen grabbed her by the wrist. "I just did a wrist grab that Gemma taught me. It was pretty easy because even though he was holding tight, I could just do it with one hand and get out. In a perfect world, we wouldn't need self-defense- but that's not the world we live in and there are bad people. It's better to know what to do that to think everything will just be fine."'
'Abbey RB, 11, has been taking courses with Gemma for a year now. "I know how to walk confidently so I'm not really a target. And know that if anything were to happen to me, that I'd know how to defend myself, it makes me feel better."'
I'm so proud of both of you girls and of everyone else who continues to grow and excel in my class. It's the best opportunity I've ever had to teach you and have fun with you every week ❤️ If any of you pursue your ambitions with the determination, focus, and consistency you have been demonstrating in class, you will all surely be making headlines yourself. 🔻
Thank you Scarborough Mirror for featuring our story and for taking such cherished photos for us!
