taking care of my skin has been important for my mental health. unlearning insecurities & being confident. before a proper skincare routine, i would always suffer from dry, dull skin. i used to think the glowy, dewey look would never happen for me. 🤷♀️ that it was something i would never achieve because it was all genetics. until! this year when i was passed on some real #knowledge !! that i want to share with you.
i was actually watching @_tarynshank live cast with @evolve_skinbar where they talked about #skinhealth and i learned the difference between hydrating and moisturizing components of a healthy skin regimen. do you know the difference? because both are equally important! before i tuned in...my skin routine was on the moisturizing side- using mostly oils and face cremes but still struggling with dry, dull skin. while they did help temperamentally, they weren’t fixing the root of the issue.
enter hydrators. hydrators add water content, moisturizers lock it in. the two essentially work together to nourish the skin. at that time, after doing my own research, i went out on a limb and purchased this hydrating toner from @100percentpure (a natural and cruelty free skincare company- ps this is completely unsponsored!! i felt compelled to share). i’m so glad i made that decision because it just so happened to be the product that brought new life to my skin. adding this stuff helped my skin regain its water and moisture balance, as it was more receptive to locking in all the goods my skin needed. i put one little squirt of this in the balm of my hands each morning after washing my face, pat into my skin, and follow with a moisturizer. or i just mix in a drop of my @odacite face oil and do them together.
adding this step into my routine, which seems oh so simple, has made all the difference. that glow is real!! this is why we put content out in this space! we never know who it might help- so thank you taryn & co! and i hope sharing this info might make a difference for someone else! 🧡 leave a comment if you enjoyed! and you can find a link to the toner on my amazon product link in my bio under beauty
