You wouldn't have thought that just a few months ago Dave thought the only solution to his chronic back pain was spinal surgery.

Since November he has become stronger and learned how to move better. The result is that he no longer experiences chronic pain.

Not all back pain is the same, and rehab varies from person to person, but I encourage people to get more active and stop putting life on hold. Seek advice if unsure where to start. 
Please note that with Daves injury history and movement quality at point of initial assessment we did not start deadlifting straight away. The trap bar deadlift has only just been introduced as it is now appropriate to do so. .

Monday Movements

Training has turned into play time in the last few weeks!

No pressure to hit weights, reps or sets!

All focus is to improve my quality of movement in and out of the gym

My hips ROM is shocking; especially on my right side!

So it's nice to be able to work on some serious weak points that have needed to be addressed for a while, whilst also progressing other movements

I will always love lifting weights! But for now enjoying bodyweight movements

I taped this yesterday as a celebration. “Look Up Child!” What a perfect sentiment for today!  I actually literally take Sundays as a day of rest.  I don’t exercise, shop, or do anything I usually do.  I rest and spend time with my family.  But during the week I MOVE and feel inspired my it daily.  Music is life.  Movement is life.

This morning started VERY early... at 5:45am to be exact. Our boys were SO excited for the arrival of the Easter 🐰. In fact, they were up earlier today than on Christmas morning 🎅🏼 🤦🏼‍♀️.

After the egg hunt was complete, we took advantage of the early morning and went for a walk in the park before breakfast. .
Some bunny must love me to do a whole loop of Mundy park wearing these bunny 🐰 ears, but we got a few smiles from others out for a walk enjoying the early morning as well as a few confused looks by their pups!

Started my day with church and then a workout. I didn't workout because I had to, I worked out because I wanted to. And it wasn't to burn calories for candy... You better believe I was eating candy either way! 🤣 Workouts have become such a normal part of my life that my body actually craves them. Pretty cool stuff. Later in the day I ate two servings of banana pudding and feel no shame about it. A healthy lifestyle doesn't get ruined in one day. .

Today was a great day to get out with my 🐶🐶 and husband. Our son is grown and serving in the Navy and I’m not particularly religious, so Easter is more of a casual let’s get out, spend some quality time and enjoy ourselves kind of a day. ⠀

We did a nice booty burning hike in the Santa Rosa Valley with tons of wild flowers and beautiful views. I don’t normally train on Sundays but I do like to get some movement in, and when the weather is as lovely as it was today, hiking is usually my first choice❤️. ⠀
