Well, weight is actually comprised of muscle mass, fat mass and water. Body water content is the main factor that’ll manipulate your bodyweight daily. Things such as carb intake, sodium intake, stress, hydration and more are all things that cause fluctuations. 🙅🏻‍♂️

Weight fluctuations are always masking our goal weights so the better thing to do would be to take a weekly average and notice the trend of your weight depending on your goals. ✅ Going about your weight this way will minimize the variables listed above and allow for a more accurate reading!!

THEN vs NOW. Fitness and Relationships are hands down the two hardest yet satisfying things in life in my opinion. There’s times where you may question things in both, want to give up, or even contemplate if it’s for you or not only to realize that all the obstacles and hardships only bring you closer to more happiness and gratification! Neither of the two are supposed to be easy and both require hard work which is why I respect the hell out of them both. God put them both at my life at the same damn time it seems like to push me, shape me, mold me and help me and we evolve into something special! Both are the biggest blessings to me honestly and I can’t wait to see where life takes us together and in this industry! @haleysharron ❤️

Oh hell yeah!

One of my push factors to why I wanted to get in shape. I didn't like the person I saw in the mirror. Period! Other validations may not matter but your own does. I told myself big was beautiful and I'm voluptuous and all. But deep down, when I look at myself, I knew I was unhealthy, my health was at its lowest. I was breathless even for walking 1km, don't talk about running or jogging. My self esteem was at its lowest not only because of others pointing it out to me, but also my own body showing it! It really didn't like what I saw, felt, experienced.

1 small step I took 6 years ago, changed my life in 6 months and transformed me into someone I never could have imagined. What is your push factor?

@colleenmason has been living life lately. She recently got married, went around the country to see baseball games at different stadiums, and then went on a honeymoon to Costa Rica! Talk about an awesome couple of week’s!

But as that comes to a close, she wants to get back into training next week towards her next set of goals. With her not training for those couple of weeks though, we have to acclimate her back into a training routine.

For the next couple of weeks, we will be slowly building volume and intensity back into her training. She will be doing the Oly lifts, but at light percentages. She will be working on her gymnastics, but starting back up with skill work and building to volume, then intensity. And she will be conditioning, but starting with cyclical work and touches on pure CrossFit.

This the approach to take when getting someone back into the swing of things and this workout is an example of exactly that as this will be her first workout back.

I am looking forward to getting her back into training and to see where she can go from here.

I am keeping the exercises the same and going up in weight every week. Why am I doing that? So that I don't hit a plateau.

The idea is this: let's say I do the bench press and I able to lift 60 kilos for 12-15 reps. I will increase the weight on the bench press every week while dropping the weight and continue for 4 weeks. On week 4 I would bench press a weight I can do for 3-5 reps.

Starting week 5, I would go back to 12-15 reps again. But this time, I should be able to lift more than 60 kilos for 12-15 reps. Which is exactly what I am going for. If you go back 4 weeks down my Instagram page, you will see me bench press less weight for the same amount of reps.
•
This is one approach to training I use to avoid plateaus. Try it out. Increase the weight and drop the reps every week for 4 weeks, then on the fifth week try to lift more weight with the same rep range you applied in week 1.

One tip on exercises in general: if you find that a weight is too heavy to complete a number of reps, then try to do as many full reps as possible then after that simply attempt a full rep even if you can't. You will end up with half reps but as long as it is at the limit of that muscle's capacity to move, it is acceptable.
•
Here on leg extension the weight was too heavy to complete at least 12 reps so I did as many full reps as I could. But I didn't rest, instead I attempted do as many reps as I could until I get 12 even if they were half reps. That's true muscle failure which is something you should be aiming for.
•
After that set adjust the weight to complete full reps with the required number. But give it all you've got even if you miscalculated the weight and it turned out to be a tad but heavier. You got this 💪🏼.
