La revista de cirugía española, público el estudio de un 1 caso relacionado con obstrucción intestinal severa, debido al consumo de chía. 
La chía es una semilla pequeña nativa de México y Guatemala rica en ácidos grasos, omega 3, antioxidantes, fibra y vitaminas, además de tener un efecto saciante para la pérdida de peso. Tiene la capacidad de absorber gran cantidad de agua hasta 27 veces su peso, y formar un hidrogel. Su consumo debe estar acompañado de una abundante hidratación para evitar casos de oclusión intestinal y estreñimiento severo.  El primer caso descrito de complicación de consumo de chía por impactación esofágica fue descrito en EEUU en 2017 (imagen presentada), sin existir estudios en humanos que pongan en alerta de las complicaciones del consumo de esta semilla. Por ello y ante el aumento de su ingesta hay que pensar que puede producirse obstrucción intestinal en pacientes consumidores de chía , siempre y cuando el consumo sea inadecuado. Como ya se menciono, hay poca información acerca de este padecimiento específico, sin embargo han sido reportados casos de obstrucción intestinal por fitobezoar (Masas duras de materiales de origen vegetal no digeridos) , de fuentes muy ricas en celulosa , semillas de vasconcella etc; hay que tomar encuenta que los riesgos serán mayores en personas con transtornos de la motilidad gástrica y digestivos. The ideal ratio of carbs-to-protein is 4:1 after a hard training session. When training hard you burn a lot of glycogen, which you use as energy to fuel your training. Therefore, you need to replenish those stores that you emptied.

You also need to eat protein to start restoring the muscle fibers that you tore when training hard. 💪🏼

Growing up I hated my crazy red hair, pale freckled skin, and how I was taller then everyone (until the boys finally caught up😂) Anything that makes you feel different growing up tends to be the first thing you’d change about yourself.  THANKFULLY I had outlets like horseback riding, running and the gym during those teenage years that helped empower me (and kept me out of trouble... for the most part)🙏 now those things I wanted to change are the characteristics I love the most 🤷‍♀️ I also now feel my best either covered in dirt from riding or drenched in sweat from a workout 💪 .

I have been working with a client, to prepare healthy #mealplans and #mealprep for almost six months and we have figured out a few things about his food preferences.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We have discovered that he loves chicken, eggs, smoothies, nuts, raisins, rice, broccoli, and carrots.  He loves anything with an Asian flare (like peanut sauce and ginger noodles), and he is a big fan of the #healthy burgers and tacos.

After paying close attention to his preferences, I have learned to plan meals that he loves week after week.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So why should you care about my client's food preferences?  You shouldn't, but you should care about your food preferences 🤔.

When you know what you REALLY like to eat (at a high level of detail), you can more easily stick to a #healthymealplan.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pay attention to what you eat and what you really love.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What are your favorite proteins and cuts of meat?
What are your favorite vegetables?
How do you like your ingredients processed?  For example, do you prefer ground meats or shredded chicken and do your prefer vegetables cut into small pieces or raw?
Do any ingredient always makes everything better, such as avocado, sriracha, or chopped nuts?
Are there any dishes that you always love?  For example, anything in a wrap, foods cooked on a grill, or Thai curries.

I should note that it took my client's open mind and some experimentation to get to a point where we really figured out his food preferences and he even discovered new things he likes.

So, approach #healthyeating with an open mind, experiment a lot with #healthyrecipes, pay close attention to what you like and why, and focus on recipes that incorporate your favorites.

Meditation has so many benefits and many of them have been backed up by science. ⁣

Overall there is nothing like meditation for calming the mind and nurturing our human spirit. Consistent practice can have many benefits as described but it can also just increase our powers of awareness, improves our intellectual capacity, and strengthens our emotional intangibles (feelings of compassion, gratitude, self-worth, and more)⁣

They say even 10-20mins a day for a few weeks can make a difference⁣

Another morning start with oats!
🥣💙🍓🥜
•I got a bit lazy last night and forgot to set my oats to soak overnight, so this morning I had to rush a bit. •I still made it work since I forst set my oats, chia seeds and hemp seeds in my unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Then I got to prep my snack and lunch. •By the time I was ready to have my breakfast, oats were almost ready. They were a bit more watery than an overnight soak, but still yummi!

Quando mangi, cioè quando metti il cibo in bocca, ti è mai capitato di pensare che effetto avrà sul tuo fisico ciò che stai ingerendo?
I macronutrienti sono i 3 costituenti principali degli alimenti che ogni giorno ingeriamo. Ognuno di essi ha delle funzioni (in realtà molte più di quelle elencate in questa semplice infografica). CARBOIDRATI: La loro funzione principale è quella di dare energia durante gli sforzi. A riposo forniscono solo il 30% dell'energia che consumiamo. Sono responsabili del trasporto di materiale energetico (glucosio) dentro le cellule dove viene immagazzinato sotto forma di glicogeno (tante molecole di glucosio legate tra loro). Durante gli sforzi, a seconda di quale sistema energetico il nostro corpo utilizza in quel momento, utilizzeremo una certa quantità di glucosio per produrre energia.

PROTEINE: La loro funzione principale è quella di riparazione cellulare. Circa il 75% delle proteine che ingerisci servono a riparare le cellule del tuo corpo, mentre un altro 25% è destinato invece alla creazione di nuove cellule di ogni tipo.

GRASSI: I grassi hanno 3 funzioni principali: Durante il riposo il 70% dell'energia che usiamo deriva dall'utilizzo dei grassi. Proteggono inoltre le membrane cellulari e i nervi rivestendoli e sono responsabili appunto dell'assorbimento di moltissimi nutrienti, tra cui le vitamine liposolubili. Se la membrana cellulare è in salute ed è quindi in grado di assorbire con facilità i nutrienti, lo si deve all'azione dei grassi.
Inoltre nella slide non l'ho indicato ma mi viene in mente mentre scrivo che i grassi sono anche fondamentali, insieme alle proteine, per la produzione di tutti gli ormoni del nostro corpo, in particolare il colesterolo da cui parte poi la produzione del testosterone.

Good news: you don’t have to.

Snacking isn’t “terrible.” Total daily intake is what trumps all - you can split that up into however many meals you want (and include snacks). If you enjoy snacking, keep enjoying it! Just make sure you’re being honest with logging said snacks so that you’re factoring them into your daily intake/macro targets.

Good news: you don’t have to.

Snacking isn’t “terrible.” Total daily intake is what trumps all - you can split that up into however many meals you want (and include snacks). If you enjoy snacking, keep enjoying it! Just make sure you’re being honest with logging said snacks so that you’re factoring them into your daily intake/macro targets.

Para quem acredita que a maior parte das proteínas são encontradas em alimentos de origem animal, hoje a nutri trouxe alguns (sim, existem muitos outros!) exemplos de proteína vegetal para vocês! (alô vegetarianos/veganos! 💛). Acima podemos ver que as leguminosas são uma ótima fonte proteínas!
