I’ve talked about my history with an eating disorder on here before... but what if I told you that I felt I was going too far in the name of “balance”? It’s no secret that I love my sweets. Ice cream, cookies, cookie dough... I love it all. But after realizing I was spending hours fantasizing about indulging in all of those things... or stepping off stage at the Arnold and eating multiple cookies and two giant cupcakes (and that was just the beginning)... well, that just didn’t feel good either. Mentally or physically! I’m working on shifting my mindset around food. I’m learning that healthy foods can be decadent too. So this morning I made something that felt like an indulgence. Pan-softened pear dusted with chai spices on top of @so_delicious vanilla almond-cashew milk oats with a dollop of @aldiusa vanilla hummus and crumbled walnuts (swipe for the money shot). It was basically a hug in a bowl and the perfect way to start my day with whole foods instead of incorporating some processed spread or almond butter with sugary mix-ins. Don’t get me wrong - you will have to pry my nut butters from my cold, dead hands 😅 but this was a good reminder that indulgence can come in many different forms. Be mindful of what foods you are focusing your mind and energy on.

Tip for a quick baked sweet potato: wash well and pierce several times.  Cook in the microwave for a few minutes, until tender and soft.  Slice, leave to cool a little, top and enjoy!

My father used to make pastina,
or @mycreamofwheat with loads of butter and salt. I didn't usually eat it with brown sugar, until I got to college and my eating habits worsened even more. :-) Now I cook my whole grains with water (one thing I always make sure to buy organic) then heat them again with plant milk, and a grind of sea salt at the very end. This more savory-sweet application takes me right back home again. I love the natural sweetness of the grain, and the palpable hit of salt just as it hits your tongue.

#müslikuchen 💕 so schnell hatte ich noch nie einen Kuchen zusammengerührt. 
100g Wasser 
100g Magerquark 
30g Whey
70g Müsli

Optional kann man es noch süßen. Mir reicht die Süße vom Müsli und Whey

Alles mit einem Löffel verrühren und in eine kleine Silikonform geben. 
Der Teig ist recht flüssig... bei 180 Grad ca 20-25 backen. 
Ich hatte meinen Kuchen nach dem Backen einmal durchgeschnitten und mit einer Masse aus Quark, Himbeeren, 1 Blatt Gelatine und #smacktastic (Werbung) gefüllt.  #müsli #seitenbacher #werbung #proteinkuchen #oatmeal #frühstückskuchen #erdbeeren #kuchenliebe #backen #gesundbacken #backenohnezucker

A zabkása az egyik kedvenc reggelink, de ez a sült verzió édességnek is tökéletesen megfelel.🥧Gyakorlatilag az alap zabkását kell sütőben megsütni főzés helyett, néhány trükkel.🤫
25 g zabot bedobtam a mikróba fél percre annyi vízzel, hogy ellepje. Majd hozzákevertem fél összenyomkodott banánt🍌 és 1 ek apróra vágott mogyorót🌰. Ehhez adtam egy löttyintés növényi tejet, 1 tk fahéjat plusz egy kis málnát, jól összekevertem és egy hőálló tálkába tettem. Mehet a tetejére egy kis banán, málna és jóó sok fahéj. 200 fokon, légkeveréssel kb 20-25 percig sütöttem. #enjoy😜

Good morning malta. Tudo em ordem por aí? Eu comecei esta terça-feira com estes crepes proteicos de aveia sabor a chocolate brownie da @prozis recheados com queijo quark e 🍓. Nos toppings coloquei mirtilos, amoras, chocolate negro orgânico derretido, manteiga de amendoim orgânica da @prozisportugal , lascas de coco e canela. Para beber um delicioso Latte de Matcha. ✨Thick and quick protein porridge hack✨

I’ve always been one to cook my oats in the microwave because 1) it’s so much faster (or so I thought) and 2) I can leave it in the microwave cooking whilst I do other things. But my oats ALWAYS overflow the bowl, no matter how many times I have cooked oats or think I know how long it takes or how closely I watch it!! So lately, I have been trialling stove top oats and have found the secret to quick stove top oats!! The secret is to soak your oats and to use half oat flour to make it extraaaa thick!! And of course, toppings are key - I’ve top mine with nectarines, berries, @the_protein_powder_chef choc protein brownies and some PB2 👌🏻

Do you cook your oats on the stove or in the microwave?

Ingredients:
➡️ 1 cup rolled oats
➡️ 1/2 cup overcooked rice cauliflower (optional but great if you want to increase the volume of your oats)
➡️ 1 tbsp @thechiaco chia seeds
➡️ 2 scoops protein powder of your choice
➡️ 2 tbsp coconut flour ➡️ 1 tbsp @natvialiving sweetener
➡️ 2 cups @almondbreezeaus almond milk

Directions:
1️⃣ Blend 1/2 cup of oats with chia seeds and coconut flour into a flour
2️⃣ Add all ingredients (except protein powder) into a big pot and stir well (big pot = more surface area for heat and less chances of overflow)
3️⃣ Let mixture sit for at least 20min whilst you do other things (I usually prepare it as soon as I get home or as soon as I wake up in the morning)
4️⃣ Cook on high heat for 3-4 minutes (oats should be slightly watery)
5️⃣ Remove from heat and stir in protein powder 
6️⃣ Top and enjoy!

⋆ this was so so so delicious. it tasted like a mix of apple cinnamon crumble and oatmeal [or if you call it porridge 😂] but a healthy version.  i made it on Sunday and it lasted the whole week for my breakfasts. each morning I put a slice on my plate, whacked it in the microwave and topped with maple syrup. i highly recommend adding chopped almonds or another crunchy element on top 🤤. so so so delicious.⁣
