Do you ever think about your shins when you row? You should! And especially on any long duration row, you should be aiming to bring your shins VERTICAL (to gravity)!

This helps optimally load the legs for the rowing stroke! If your butt is hitting your heels when you do this, try adjusting your foot plates down a notch or too to help prevent this! Keep this in mind on your next long duration row! Long and strong is the name of the game! 💪 🚣

CLASS 225: My workday was absolutely insane! So it was really nice to leave there and go to @otfchinohills where my people @gkhairallah @anniegrl @jenay526 @jennifermonet, our lovely SA’s @justicebailey_ @staceyig, our wonderful coaches @goinnhamm @coachchris_otf and their smiling faces were all there to greet me!  Got in a kickass workout, and the girl on the station next to me who I’d never met even complimented me on lifting heavy weights! 💪🏼🧡 Great way to end a day.

【足の位置】
体の筋肉の半分以上を占める脚。
身体を引き締めたいなら避けられないトレーニング部位ですね。
脚の筋量を増やせれば踏ん張りが効き、上半身のトレーニングの質も上がります。
最近では女性の方がこぞってお尻!美脚!と脚トレしてる姿も見られます。

ただ単純な脚の曲げ伸ばしの運動ですが、足の位置1つでも効く部位は変わります。
.
簡単に取り入れられるマシンの運動でも位置はとても重要!!

運試しのように
うーん、今日はここ!

これではトレーニングの効果も毎回マチマチでターゲットがバラバラに。
その為、脚が太くなった。ふくらはぎが太くなった。膝が痛い。
なんて事になりかねません。

一番簡単なのはトレーナーに聞く事です。
主観で見るよりも客観的に見たほうが確実です。
是非お近くのパーソナルトレーナーに聞いてみて下さい。

ちなみに2枚目の写真の足の位置で踵重心にして本日ハムストリングと臀部追い込んでみました😁

Monday of last week, I had a minor procedure done to eradicate a large stone in my right kidney.... so I had 6 days of recovery time.. because when your kidney has been punched around by sound waves, you might not feel good. Ran/walked 2.5 miles on Sunday and finally got back to the OTF studio today. Oh how I missed this place.... started this week at 208.6lbs. So in last 2.5 months I’ve lost approximately 20-22lbs. #otforange #orangetheoryfitness #orangetheory #orangetheoryfitnessorange #orangezone #otf #fit #fitness #workout #beastmode #enfuego #burnbabyburn #exercise #active

I did it! I’m the first one in the studio to complete a full marathon of 26 miles. It’s been 5 months and close to 150 classes. Orange theory makes me happier every day! I love how for an hour I get to be a better version of myself and it’s amazing how I get to see other members do the same! Truly inspiring! I wouldn’t do it without my awesome coaches! The main reason I love Orangetheory so much is because of the motivation from the trainers. Last year when I started coming to Orangetheory Rock Hill I took Coach Tim’s class. His badass playlists and upbeat attitude always made me push harder. Not to mention the times when he would make me get heavier weights, tell me to stop taking breaks, increase my speed on the treadmill, or to get my watts up to 300 on the rower. Sometimes having someone else seeing that you’re capable of doing things you never thought were possible helps you believe in yourself. That’s the reason I kept coming back to Orangetheory and why I push myself to do a little bit better every single day. I’m capable of more than I think I am and so are you, all you have to do is show up and put in the work!

Tonight is my last @orangetheoryntx class until Sunday or Monday. I was signed up for a half marathon this Saturday but have had a nagging foot/ankle pain that just doesn’t want to go away. So I did the adult thing and switched to the 10k instead because six miles is much more manageable than 13.1. I’m bummed and a bit sad but I’d rather scale back than risk a bigger and prolonged injury.

Fact - this was taking prior to Kathleen killing my core and quads at @orangetheory_glenview, I’m cycling off preworkout, my legs aren’t small yet, and my Starbucks straw broke when I got to work. But you know what? We’ll be fine without preworkout after three days, I had one hell of a workout tonight, my legs will do the thang at one point, and I was able to drink my coffee without a straw. I’m back three days later from recovering from strep throat. Still managed to stay in the orange zone for 55% of the time and I still managed to burn over 1000 calories by burning 1139 calories in 56 minutes along with earning 33 splat points. Not bad for a person who was sick with strep throat for three days ( but at least not contagious) . It's been a tough few days for me. Definitely feeling some burnout. This occasionally happens near the end of a long training cycle. It doesn't mean I don't want to continue or I suddenly hate running... I'm just feeling tired and lazy and I just want to rest. So, I've been allowing myself to do that. But just for a couple days. 
From experience, this fades and usually doesn't last more than about four days before I am ready to get back out there. Luckily I have a little extra motivation coming my way. I ordered a new running watch! After over 12 years with this little lime green Garmin, it was time for a major upgrade! 
Going to attempt to get back on the train tomorrow with an evening at Orange Theory. And looking forward to getting my new gear!

PRO TIP: TAKE PROGRESS PHOTOS! I'm currently in maintenance, although I wouldn't mind losing 5-10 more pounds of fat and swapping it with muscle. So the point is, I don't weigh myself anymore. These progress photos allow me to see the changes still taking place in my body recomposition. You'll feel silly at first, taking so many photos of a body you probably hated looking at during some point in your journey, but it's worth it. I can definitely see myself getting leaner. Tonight I finished the @orangetheory Half Marathon. I've been doing more running than I ever have in my life and although I detest it, it's easy to see the gains in endurance and conditioning taking place. I spend less time recovering. That strength workout tonight kicked my booty and I loved it!!! My lungs have been shot this week with the air quality so the guy next to me's cologne was SUUUPPPEERRR. I had to grab my inhaler because it was so triggering. I did jog quite a bit and took moments during the three minute runs to walk and catch my breath.  I increased my base from 3.8mph to 4mph.  I DID run ALL of my all outs at 7mph! I ran my last push at 6mph and my last all out I bumped it to 7.1mph. You know I went heavy in the weight room so I'm pretty much feeling like a bad ass. A wobbly one but still! 😂 See you Friday @egennicks and @otfredmountain
