This is me circa 2002; At my first job. I was color matching in the light box and not even sure why this was a picture worthy moment. I loved my first job as an assistant designer at @macys. I had landed it after the most amazing internship ever. I remembering having purchased a suit from @bloomingdales (gotta love the employee discount) during my internship to wear to my interviews. It didn’t fit me well but I was just excited to own a suit from “bloomies” that I bought with my own money! I wish I had someone to tell me I could get it tailored! I was a design professional- oh the irony! Eventually I built up a wardrobe of what I think of as age appropriate, budget basics. I am grateful I had the income and a healthy employee discount to help! However, not every woman is that lucky. Life and circumstance sometimes present turns that appropriate interview and work gear is not as easily accessible to all. We all have one chance to make the best first impression. A moment where you need to feel your confident best! And we all know CONFIDENCE IS OUR BEST ACCESSORY. Organizations like @dressforsuccess are making this a part of many women’s success tool box by providing interview & work appropriate clothing to those in need. For the next two days, Stella & dot will donate a piece of jewelry to Dress for Success when you shop! Isn’t that a great reason to update your wardrobe and give back in style?
