🙌Monday…. I am buzzing for this week.  New challenges, new goals and focused on what needs to be achieved.🔥 #

# 🤓👩‍🎓I was at a conference at the weekend and there were several #knowledgebombs very witty innuendos 😂🤭and many things that will assist me going forward.  Thank you @martinnutrition for providing such a great conference.

☝️One I wanted to share was the never ending list of excuse we hear…. This one particular slide I wanted to share with you as your #mondaymotivation  as humans we have great tendency to alter the truth or in @martinnutrition words we are all liars….. 😳🙄 That little bit of chocolate we didn’t track because we didn’t actually put it on a plate… or that extra bit of pizza the kids didn’t eat (technically it wasn’t mine so it shouldn’t count) 🤔🤫followed by “not sure why my calorie deficit isn’t shifting this belly…” 🤥🤥 I 100% have been there and I fully appreciate it is difficult but let’s face it you are only kidding yourself. 🤷‍♀️ #

So for #Mondaymindset I challenge you… nope actually I encourage you to challenge yourself to be honest and get focused this week. Get your big girl / boy pants on and work for your progress. 👊

Girls.....Look in the mirror, that’s your competition...! I tell all my girls who are serious about their training to take progress pictures, for me it plays a huge part in the ‘journey’. Too often the scales don’t say what you thought they would or you want them to and can kill your motivation instantly.  Keep looking in the mirror, keep taking weekly progress pictures, your body composition & shape can change so much while the scales stand still, you’ll notice it quite often in your clothes before you see it on the scales.  Especially if you are weight training you want to see the changes in your shape & size.  Every day girls it’s up to you to make sure your that step further than you were yesterday, stay focused & keep working towards that goal, your doing great....! Happy Friday ❤️

After I fell pregnant with my second child I knew that returning to my job after maternity leave wasn’t going to work for me or my family. I couldn’t get flexible working approved and being there full time wasn’t working - I felt like I was doing a bad job at work and a bad job at home. We ran the numbers and talked about the reality of commuting and daycare drop-offs  and decided to take the plunge and become a single income household. I was thrilled that I’d get to stay home with my babies and stop missing out on that time that I so desperately wanted. But I was also full of self doubt; What would people think of me for jacking in a career I’d worked so hard for and “just being a mum”? I knew that I wanted to go back to work eventually but I also knew I wanted to do something completely flexible around my family and as close to stress-free as possible. I didn’t have a calling as such and I had NO IDEA what I wanted to do, but I was lucky enough to spend time working with a friend-of-a-friend who was training to be a Life Coach. It’s not something I’d ever heard of or considered using but she really helped me prioritise a number of things in my life - my health and fitness, my relationship, my life goals, and ultimately work out what I wanted to do with the next chapter of my career. The thing I liked the most about our sessions was having a whole hour a week just to talk about myself and have someone making sure I was keeping on top of the things that were important to me. Maybe it’s because I’m a Brit but the thought of seeing a Life Coach felt a little self indulgent and weird. But it wasn’t at all - I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone - especially someone who is trying to find that elusive work/life balance. Here’s a travel story for ya!

An hour or so after I put my last post up about using yogic practices to help get through stressful travel situations I was flung into one and put to the absolute test 😅
12 hours into a bus ride, around 11am after a night of very little sleep my bus stopped in a town about 40 minutes away from my final destination. I hopped off the bus to go to the bathroom taking only my phone and wallet (containing about $20USD) with me. I asked the driver where the bathroom was and told him I’d be back in a minute.
Bet y’all can guess what happened next..
The bus left without me, and with it it took my laptop, my credit card, all my cash, my journal and my passport, along with all my luggage. I definitely got my self in a bit of a pickle. The funny part is I’d been seeing people leave their backpacks on the bus every time they got off the whole trip, where as I’d always taken mine with me to the dingy toilet cubicle.

I was so so fortunate to meet a very kind tuk tuk driver to let me use his phone to call my last hostel, and drove me to the bus station in Kampot. I was also so fortunate that a wonderful group of French people sitting around me noticed I wasn’t on the bus and packed my drink bottle and journal back into my bag and left it, along with my luggage at the desk at the bus station.

THIS was definitely a situation to connect back to the inner self 😅 breathe, keep a positive mindset and stay centred. There was definitely a worst case scenario here, but the reality was that there was no one there to look after me. The mental break down I was on the cusp of only would’ve made the situation worse. 
I had to remind myself that I was meeting some BEAUTIFUL friends in Kampot, I was only 40 minutes away, and I have insurance.
A very, very good lesson in practicing what I preach✨

Yesterday I ran 6.6 miles 🏃‍♀️ I didn’t want to go tbh 😂 it’s no secret that I’ve had a real battle with getting back into fitness following last years surgery.

SELFCARE
ZO, vandaag heb ik overleefd. Het was een toffe, maar ook intense dag. Hoe dat komt? Nou het is best pittig een druk bedrijf, een creatief hoofd met duizend plannen, veeleisend en ambitieus zijn in combinatie met een gevoelig lijf én een gezin. Alle credits voor single parents, gezinnen met 5 honden, 8 katten, 4 vissen en 10 kinderen met 6 rugzakjes en 15 hobby’s die alles doen zonder netwerk of auto. 
Maarrr ook even diepe ZUCHT van mij: - Want Laure heeft last van verlatingsangst “mama niet ook weg, papa (va)kansie, sneeuw, skiën, Laule huilen”
- Bobbie is op oorlogspad; hij haat wandelen met dit weer maar moet ergens z’n energie kwijt (lees chaos)
- Ik weet alle ballen hoog te houden, maarrr ben dit niet gewend om het allemaal alleen te moeten doen.
Dus: ik.ben.MOE.

Wat mij dan helpt? ✅ gezonde voeding ✅ meer thee dan koffie ✅ op tijd naar bed
✅ steun vragen (van bellen met een collega tot eten bij mijn ouders en stoom afblazen bij Sil) ✅ wel blijven bewegen (win-win: mijn coachingsafspraak vanmiddag deden we al wandelend in het bos) ✅ een lang warm bad met een tijdschrift (@kekmamamagazine it is)
Yes en dat is dus precies wat ik nu ga doen! 
De sleutel in je goed voelen zit namelijk niet in weten hoe je voor jezelf moet zorgen maar dit ook daadwerkelijk DOEN!
