Day 91 ->
So today, I had to go to the hospital to have my mental health assessed because my doctor said that I need a second opinion on what’s going on.
I see a private psychiatrist and therapist because luckily my dad has the right insurance.
I’m so so thankful for that, as I don’t know where I’d be without it.
This afternoon, I went to this place which is a public mental health service.
If you don’t live in the UK, you probably won’t know what this is but I will explain it anyway.
It’s called CAMHS (which stands for the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service), which is a government funded organisation aimed at anyone below the age of 18.
In order to meet with their psychiatrist, I had to go into the clinical mental health section of the hospital.
To be honest, it’s what I expected.
I’ve already had my mental health assessed before, so I already kinda knew what to expect.
But long story short, my mental health is still having a big impact on my life.
She said she was concerned about me, but I mean who isn’t by this point lol.
But at least I’m getting more help.
I can’t stress this enough: early intervention is KEY.
If I had gotten help when my problems first started almost 6 years ago, I wouldn’t be in this shitty situation.
Your case is never “not bad enough” to get help.
I wish someone told me that sooner, so I’m telling you so that you don’t have to go through the same shit if your problems are just starting.
You CAN get help.
You deserve to be helped because feeling happy and safe are basic human rights.
If you are in the process of recovering:
You are so much stronger than your bad thoughts.
I promise that you CAN get through this.
It might take time, but I mean it when I say that recovery is so worth it in the end.
Stay safe lovelies💛
All my love, Mittens
