Todays workout was🔥. On the 5th set of squats my world was feeling a little rocked! Especially with this little lovely super set. I tend to rush a lot of things when I workout. My squats were suppose to have a 2 second pause at the bottom on all reps. In my head it felt like a 5 second pause. But looking back now I barely made 1 second!!! 🤣🤣🤣. This is how videoing yourself can be important. So remember to be mindful during your lift, dont rush, and keep your head in it! 🤯

Today’s focus was exhausting the legs with a combination of speed/slow reps with light/moderate weight. The volume for the majority of the exercises vary however it sets me up for my next heavy leg phase (hamstring focus). For the next month or so, I’ll be going back to my traditional leg training spilt.

The following exercises aren't a surprise except for how to performing them. Something that I learned is that you only have to change the sequence of your regular exercises so your body doesn't get use to it and you'll definitely see progress. The following exercises aren't a surprise except for how to performing them. Something that I learned is that you only have to change the sequence of your regular exercises so your body doesn't get use to it and you'll definitely see progress. With fasting taking a toll on my strength and P.Bs it’s nice to look back on clips and remind myself that for me food definitely equals power 😂😂. I refuse to let my title of ‘the strong one’ slip.

One of my favorite lunge variations is the reverse deficit lunge 💪

Adding in a step or plate (or anything that's around 4" tall) increases the range of motion for the lunge.
-
If you've never tried these before, then prepared for your booty to be sore 🍑

Also, any type of weight can be used for these (barbell, dumbbells, kettlebells, etc.).

🔴Quick note on reverse lunges vs forward lunges🔴

✔️First, I prefer reverse lunges for myself and my clients as they are less stressful on the knees.

✔️Stepping back (reverse lunge) allows for more control of the descent of the lunge. Better form can be learned and practiced with the reverse lunge.

✔️A forward lunge forces the lifter to decelerate their body (and additional load) quickly as they step forward, which for some, can cause more stress on the knee joint.

✔️Lastly, while many people think the lunge is a basic movement, it's often done improperly.
