Have you ever been sat in front of a stranger from a different race and got asked to talk about racism ? .
Probably not because that would awkward right ... .
Well that’s what we made these beautiful people do.
We asked them questions like have you ever been a victim of racism ?
Do you have variety of friends from different races ?
Then they had to discuss there answers with each other.
Now this wasn’t easy, first thought that came to mind to some of them was “Will my answer offend the person across from me” or “ How will I answer this to a complete stranger” .
Now you tell me, when you look at the pictures, do you see scared people that don’t want to listen to the person across from them talk about racism OR do you see kind people getting to know someone on a whole new level. .
Racism shouldn’t be swept under the rug, it happens ALL the time and to people you know & don’t know. These people are victims of something evil that could make them feel alone yet we won’t talk about with them because we are scared.
Why not ask someone you know or just met, have you ever been a victim of racism?
Hear their answer, listen to their voice and let them know that they are not alone and doesn’t matter if you have the same skin color or not, you are here for them, you have their back. .
To break a stigma, it’s not about turning bad people good ... to break a stigma, we must get all the good people to USE THIER VOICE. We need to out weigh the bad with good. There’s always going to be that one person that makes a racist joke or assumption BUT what if the people around spoke up against it instead of staying silent to watch. Images what we could do if a kinda heart spoke louder than a rude mind
No matter what, there will always be good and bad in ever situation. The problem with the world currently is that the good people are silent or forgot to use their voice up against those who bring hate into the world.
Don’t avoid it anymore. Talk to your friends about it, see the world as best you can through someone’s eyes that have personally faced things like racism. Unless you have been a victim, you will never fully understand but shouldn’t you at least try too 🖤
