Physiotherapy dates back to ancient Indian traditions. Sushruta (in the year 600 BC), one of the founders of Indian Medicine mentions treatments such as water therapy, stretching and massage in his works. Not to forget yoga as a form of exercise as old as 6000 years ago, has their root deep within the modern physiotherapy. With advancement in technology and industrialisation new treatments such as ultrasound have been introduced.
To sum it up, natural ways of treating pain have been long practised in India. New terms are given to the age old traditions
